I had been awake for only five minutes and already I could see that my day was going to be grand.

For one, it was late in the morning, I had slept the whole night without waking up; and two... Lily was with me, it was her voice that woke me up in fact, though it was probably the best thing I had ever woken up to.

It was hard to stop smiling at her with all her little mumbles and murmurs, all having something to do with her family or myself.

Eventually, after much mumbling, she woke up, and, according to her slight jump of surprise, she had forgotten where she was.

"Hey," she smiled, even her morning voice was attractive, this is not fair on me, at all.

"Good morning, beautiful," I smiled back before I pressed a small kiss to her forehead.

Lily flushed slightly, though it was still very visible due to her pale complexion.

"Oh shush," she mumbled as she removed her head from my chest and sat up against the bedhead so she was sitting directly next to me.

I laughed quietly before I pressed another kiss onto her lips, pulling away before she could respond.

"Jerk!" she accused, giving me light shove.

"Only to you, Kins."

"You're so full of cheese," Lily stuck her tongue out childishly.

I laughed again before I took a glance at my watch.

"I'm surprised no one came in here, it's about ten-thirty," I remarked.

"No one bothers a brooder," Lily teased.

"Hey!"

"Oh shut up, we're going to the kitchen," Lily grinned as she grabbed my had and leapt off of my bed, effectively pulling me onto the ground, which also resulted in her landing on me with the sudden jerk back.

"Why?" I whined, I just wanted to stay in my comfortable bed with her in my arms, I didn't want to walk down the chilly halls to get to the bloody kitchen.

"Because I'm hungry," Lily copied my tone as she got up, pulling me up after she had dusted herself off.

"But it's warm here," I moaned.

"Horseshoe," Lily whined.

I enjoyed messing with her, I really did.

"Lily."

"I'm hungry!"

"I'm cold!"

"Horseshoe! Stop it! I'm actually hungry!"

"Alright, alright! Let's go," I laughed at her scowl.

Lily huffed and tugged me out of the room, walking quickly towards the kitchen.

But when we arrived in the kitchen there was no one, no mum or dad arguing over the latest Quidditch match, no Sirius scarfing down breakfast, no Remus scolding or reading, and no Frank with his bloody looks of joy.

"Where is everyone..." I muttered to myself as Lily let go of my hand and hurried over to the cooker, where I saw a note was plastered.

I moved over to her and wrapped my arms around her waist, resting my head on her shoulder as I read the note.

Dear James,

If you're reading this then you've finally left your room and your father and I have left to visit your Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Stanley with Sirius and Remus, might I also add that Frank has gone to visit Alice so don't worry about him. We will be back late so don't wait for us, and we're not sure when Frank will be home either, have fun.
