TMNT FanFic: My Little Secret

Turtles?!?

Nicole's POV

TURTLES?!? I push myself more into the couch too fast, and I can feel an excruciating pain in my back.

"AHHH!!" I screamed in pain.
"You shouldn't be moving right now!" said the one with a purple mask.

I just lay still holding onto my back with one arm and leaning in the couch with the other.

"It's okay," said the one with the blue mask as he took a step closer to me. I flinched as he stepped forward and he stopped walking.

"We're not gonna hurt you." he tried to reassure me.

I didn't really believe him at first, I don't really trust anyone except for April, but he had a look of kindness in his eye. I decided to look at the others to decided for myself whether or not he was telling the truth.

The one with the orange mask seemed kinda childish cuz he just kept smiling at me. The one with the purple mask had a similar expression as the blue one. The red-masked one just had a blank stare, like he was glad to see I was up, but he didn't really want to be here.

"Can I come closer?" the purple one asked.

I thought for a minute and then reluctantly nodded my head. He slowly came closer to me and said,

"Can you lay back down for me?" he asked as he put his hand on my shoulder.

I laid back down and the blue one spoke.

"Umm... Hi." he said kinda shyly. "My names Leonardo, or Leo as my brothers call me."

The purple one next to me spoke next.
"Name's Donatello, or Donnie."

"The name's Michelangelo, or Mikey, or Dr. Prankenstein, as my bros call me!" said the orange one.

"No one calls you that, Mikey!" said the red one. "The name's Raphael. Or Raph."

I just kept staring at them.
"Do you think she can talk?" I heard Mikey whisper.

"Of course she can. She was talking to April when we found them." said Raph.

"Yeah, but-" Mikey started to reply but I cut him off. "How do you know April?" I asked really quietly.

"She comes down here all the time. Why?" answered Donnie.

These guys are the new friends April kept talking about?

"She's my best friend and the only person I trust. Where is she right now?"

"She's at school." said Leo.

"School? How long have I been out?"

"4 days." said Donnie after a minute.

"4 days?" I repeated. I was out that long?

"You had lost a lot of blood so that was expected," said Donnie, "Nicole needs to get some rest, we'll come back in a couple hours to check on you, okay?"

"How do you know my name?" I asked.

"April told us." said Mikey.

"Oh."

"We'll leave you alone now." said Leo.

"Nighty, night, Nicole." Mikey whispered on his way out.

TIME SKIP 3 HOURS

"Nicole," I heard someone say, "Wake up, it's me, April."

I opened my eyes to see the April sitting next to me on the couch.

"April!"

"Hahaha hello!" she said.

"Why didn't you tell me your new friends were turtles?!?"

"I didn't think you would believe me. And they don't really want people knowing about them."

"Oh, ok."

"How are you feeling?"

"Sore."

"I would expect you to be."

Just then, Donnie came in and kneeled in front of the couch.

"I'm gonna help you try to sit up, and eventually, stand up, okay?" Donnie told me.

I just nodded my head in response. He slowly helped me sit up, and after about 30 seconds, we were able to get me sitting up.

"Are you ready to try standing?" he asked.

"I think so."

He started to help me support my weight onto my feet and after about 5 minutes of me sitting back down in pain, I was finally able to stand.
I smiled and chuckled as I took my first step.

"Are you sure you can do more? We've already done a lot 2day." asked Donnie.

"I'm sure," I replied.

After about an hour, I could walk around the room without help from Donnie or April.

I noticed that I hadn't seen anyone else since I woke up.

"Where is everyone?" I asked.

"Leo is meditating, Raph is probably in his room, and Mikey might be in his room, but I'm not sure, why?" Donnie answered.

"I was just wondering." I said quietly.

"I'm gonna go get them so they can see all the progress you've made!" exclaimed April.

"Don't, April." I stopped her.

"Why?"

"I just don't like all the attention."

"Please?" she asked.

I sighed. "Fine."

"Yay!"

She ran off to go get everyone and I sat back down on the couch. She came back a minute later with everyone.

"Well, go on! Show them!" April said excitedly.

I stood up from the couch and walked over to where Donnie was.

"Wow!"

"Awesome, dude!"

"Nice."

They all told me that they were really glad I was feeling better when this giant rat, thing walked into the room.

'This day is just getting weirder and weirder.' I thought.

"I'm glad to see you have regained some of your strength, Miss Nicole."

"Thanks you," I said shyly, "Who are you?"

"My name is Splinter. My sons call me Sensei and Master Splinter."

"Nice to meet you Master Splinter."

"Same to you, although not under the best circumstances."

"I would like to thank you for your hospitality."

"No need," said Master Splinter, "You are no burden on us and we have plenty of room."

"I would still like to say thank you."

"This young girl has manners. You could learn a thing or 2 from her, Raphael." he said with a grin in his face.

"Burn!" yelled Mikey.
Raph just growled and crossed his arms.
