Mutagen

Nicole's POV

Come on!

"Phew! For a second there I thought I was hearing things!" Mikey said with a smile.

"I'm right in front of you." Leo said, repeating what I had just said.

"Nicole?" Mikey asked.

"Yes, yes!" I said.

"C-Can she see us?" Mikey asked.

"I... don't know." Donnie said.

"Nicole... if you can hear me... tell us how we can help you." Leo said.

"I....I...." I stuttered.

Then, I knew what to do.

I don't know how to explain it.

I just... knew what to do.

A feeling.

It felt... right.

I tried just sending them one word instead of a sentence, to try to lessen the headache.

"Mutagen." I thought to all of them.

I held my head.

They all looked at the canister.

"What about the mutagen?" Donnie asked.

I tried to get one last word to them.

"Arm."

I thought.

My head felt like it was on fire.

I cut off the link.

My headache slowly went away.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Raph asked.

"I....I have an idea." Donnie said.

He went over to the mutagen canister, took off the top, poured some into a small bowl, and walked over to me.

"What are you doing?!?" Raph asked.

"Doing what she told us to do." he replied.

"Which is what, exactly?" Raph asked.

"Putting the mutagen on her arm." Donnie said.

"Are you crazy?!?" Raph asked.

"No. It'll work." Donnie said, sounding like he was trying to convince himself, not Raph and the others.

"Are you sure?" Leo asked.

He paused.

"No." he said.

They all looked at him with worry.

He continued to get supplies and no one stopped him.

He got a small sample of the mutagen from the Petri fish and carefully brought it next to me.

"What if it doesn't work?" Mikey asked.

"Then she'll become a mutant." He said with fear.

Mikey gulped.

"It'll work. I know it will work." I said quietly.

He slowly put a drop of mutagen onto my wound.

My arm started hurting.

Not in an excruciating way, but in a relieving way. Like the pain you feel when getting a massage and you have a knot when the person is trying to get it out.

I heard the guys gasp.

I looked at them.

They were staring at me.

I looked at myself.

I gasped as well.

My arm didn't look as charred as before.

"Donnie, do it again!" Raph said.

He got another drop of mutagen, but this time it was bigger.

My arm started healing.

Donnie kept putting more and more until my wound was almost gone.

I felt my eyes getting heavier.

I smiled.

"See you in a few seconds." I said.

My body felt limp as I blacked out.

I felt myself come back into consciousness.

I moaned cuz my arm was still sore and I felt dizzy.

"Nicole?" I heard a voice ask.

I slowly opened my eyes to find 4 amazing faces staring at me with concern.

I smiled.

"Nicole!" They all shouted.

Mikey ran up to me and hugged me.

"I missed you, Nicole." he said.

"I missed you too. I missed not being able to talk to you all." I said.

"What do you mean?" Donnie asked.

"It's a long story. I'll explain later." I said.

I tried to get up, but ended up getting a major head rush.

Donnie helped me lay back down.

"You should lay down for a little while. I mean, you did just wake up from a coma." Donnie said.

I nodded.

I closed my eyes as I felt myself drift into sleep.
