Pt. 1

Jungkook smiles as he does a final walk through his New York headquarters, saying goodbye to some of the workers he was close with before going up to his office.

The room is all packed up and you can barely tell he'd been there for years.

His phone vibrates against the desk, a smile forming on his face when he sees Taehyung's callerID.

"Taehyung-ah," he answers. "you're supposed to be asleep, you have that meeting in the morning don't you?"

"Six thousand miles away and you still find a way to micromanage me." Taehyung chuckles, his voice deep and tired.

Jungkook bites back a laugh. "You sound so tired, Tae. You shouldn't have waited up if you did."

"It's only 12am here, Kook. Relax." The older says. "I wanted to talk to you before I fell asleep."

"That's sweet." Jungkook chuckles. "I'm just packing up the rest of my things in the office."

"I'm ready to see you. I miss you." Taehyung says, his voice becoming thicker with sleep.

"I miss you too. I can't believe it's been almost three months since we've seen each other." The younger says. "I'll be there before you know it though."

"Can't wait for you to see the house." The older says half asleep.

Jungkook can't help but laugh. "Go to sleep, Taehyung. I'll see you and your house in no time."

"Okay. I love you."

"I love you too."

Jungkook smiles down at his phone for a moment before putting it in his pocket and grabbing the last box from his desk.

There's a soft knock on his door that gets his attention and when he turns around he's surprised to see Jongsuk there.

"Hey," The older says with a small smile. "can I get that for you?"

"No, I got~" The younger starts to decline the offer but Jongsuk takes the box anyway. "Thank you. I'm just going to my car."

"Okay." Jongsuk nods, following the younger out of the office. "I know you weren't expecting me and I probably shouldn't've come here but I wanted to say goodbye."

"You shouldn't've gone out of your way if you did." Jungkook says as they step on the elevator, pressing the button and sighing at the awkwardness.

"I didn't want us to end on such a bad note." The older says honestly. "I know there's no way to fix anything or pretend what happened never did but I didn't want our last conversation to go like that."

"How exactly do you expect it to go, Jongsuk?" The younger asks looking up at him. "Unless we pretend nothing happened it'll just end the same."

"I don't want to talk about what happened so it won't end the same." Jongsuk says as they step out of the elevator. "I want to tell you that after taking all this time to cool down and think about everything I'm glad you've realized your true feelings and I'm glad you're embracing them."

"You don't have to do this." Jungkook says looking away from him.

"I have to, Jungkook. I just want you to know that I'm not angry at you, I don't want you to think I am." The older says. "I'm happy for you. I love you enough to be happy as long as you're happy."

Jungkook smiles softly. "Thank you, Jongsuk. I'm sorry things had to happen the way they did."

"Me too." Jongsuk says with a shrug as they walk through the automatic doors. "But I'm happy for you."
