Jungkook is in the guest room making sure all his things were packed up from Taehyung's apartment.

He didn't realize how little he had until it was all rounded up and stuffed in boxes.

He had taken the day off to make sure he had everything together before Taehyung came home, his flight leaves tomorrow morning and he wanted everything to be ready to go.

He had gotten multiple enthusiastic phone calls from Gagi Fashion upon accepting their offer to join and part of him was actually excited, he was extremely nervous about going to a foreign country but he would get over that.

He's keeping himself busy by designing, he hasn't done so in so long and so many fresh ideas were in his head.

There's a soft knock on the guest room door and he knows that it can only be one person.

"Come in." He says, his voice strained from spending the entire day not speaking.

"Are you busy?" Taehyung says after opening the door and stepping in.

"N-No, no." The younger says closing his sketchbook.

"I just, um, you leave tomorrow so I wanted to wish you luck in case I don't see you tomorrow." The brunette says, his eyes bloodshot from crying. "You're going to do great, I know you don't need me to tell you that but still."

Jungkook nods, swallowing hard. "Thanks."

"Yeah. Good luck, Jungkook. In everything you do." Taehyung says, clearing his throat with a forced smile. "Goodbye, if I don't see you again."

"Goodbye, Tae." The younger forces out with an equally forced smile.

Taehyung nods silently before turning and leaving the room, closing the door behind himself.

Jungkook releases a shaky sigh, tears slipping down his face.

"Goodbye, Tae."

___

"You sure you have everything?"

"Yes."

Jin nods, putting the car in drive and heading towards the airport. "Are you excited?"

"Yeah, I am actually." Jungkook nods, looking at the penthouse through the mirror until Jin turns off the street.

"Did you guys talk at all before you left?" The older asks.

"Yeah, he wished me luck." The younger sighs looking down at his phone, he felt himself getting emotional again and he didn't want to give in.

"You're going to do great." Jin says. "I'm very excited for you."

"Thanks, hyung." Jungkook says, adjusting his hair under his beanie, the color was starting to fade but the younger wasn't ready to let the oddly colored hair go.

"Promise you'll keep in touch all the way in America?" The older asks with a short laugh. "Don't get to the states and start acting fake."

Jungkook chuckles, shaking his head. "I'll keep in touch, hyung. I promise."

"I'm so proud of you. I know it's hard on both of you right now but it'll be so worth it. You'll be doing everything you've ever wanted to do." Jin continues. "You'll have your own team, a website custom made just for you, and the chance to see all your ideas off the paper. Isn't that great?"

"It is, I don't know how to thank you, Jin-hyung." The younger says, his voice distant despite it gratitude.

They arrive to the airport all too soon, Jin parking the car in the garage before the two of them climb out of the car.

"This is all you need, right? Everything else is being delivered?" Jin checks as he gets Jungkook's suitcase out of the trunk.

"Yeah, this is it." Jungkook says. "Thanks for dropping me off."

"No, of course." The older says smiling at him. "Are you sure you don't want me to walk you to the gate?"

"Yeah, I'll be good from here." The younger says. "Thank you, for everything, Seokjin."

The older smiles sadly, pulling the younger into a hug. "I love you, Jungkook. Be great."

Jungkook chuckles. "I love you too, hyung. Take care of him please, and take care of yourself too."

"You know I will." Jin says pulling away from the hug. "Go on now, I'll see you again."

"See you again, hyung." The younger says throwing his backpack over his shoulder and grabbing his suit case.

Jin waves once more as the younger walks away, rolling his suit case behind him as he goes.

The older sighs climbing back in his car, he didn't know how Taehyung was going to react to all this once everything is said and done and it worried him.

It takes another hour to arrive back to the penthouse due to the heavy traffic in Seoul but when he does he finds Taehyung sitting in his room in the windowsill with his knees pulled to his chest.

A lit cigarette balanced between his fingers but it seems to just be burning out as the younger stares off, the ashes falling carelessly to the ground.

"Hey." Jin says walking over, sitting across from him. "You okay?"

The brunette nods his head distantly, his eyes still focused on the busy street below.

"Are you sure?" The older asks cautiously.

"No." Taehyung chuckles humorlessly, blinking away the tears in his eyes.

"Are you going to be okay?" Jin asks, worry written clearly over his face.

"I don't know." The brunette answers, tears slipping down his cheeks despite his attempts to stop them. "He'll be happy, that'll be enough to make me happy I hope."

"Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" The older asks. "I don't mind staying."

Taehyung shakes his head, putting his cigarette in the ashtray and wiping his eyes. "I actually want to be alone for a while, hyung."

Jin deflates a little. "Are you sure~"

"I'm sure." The brunette says. "Nothing's going to happen. I'm fine, I am."

"Okay." The older says. "I'll see you in the morning?"

"Yeah." Taehyung says looking out of the window.

Jin sighs. "I'll call you tonight."

Taehyung hums in acknowledgement, waiting for Jin to leave the room before looking towards the door.

He didn't want to be alone, he wanted to be with Jungkook but Jungkook was gone now.

No matter how many times he told himself that it was for the best his heart just couldn't understand, he wanted this for Jungkook but he wished it didn't have to hurt so bad.

The brunette finds himself downstairs in the empty penthouse nursing a glass of alcohol that he can't bring himself to drink.

He wanted to numb the pain in his chest but he didn't want to forget how he was feeling right now.

He didn't want forget what it truly feels like to be completely and unforgivingly heartbroken.

His first heartbreak was drowned out with drugs and alcohol, he could hardly even remember being sad, but he wanted to remember this one.

He wanted to remember how it felt to lose someone that made him a better and happier person.

He wanted to remember this pain.
