I could hear their footsteps right behind mine. I didn't dare to turn around.

My legs were giving away. I couldn't feel my lower body. It felt as if I'd run the entire city.

But I kept running. I couldn't let the chance slip away this time. As the men behind me drew closer I felt something cold on my thigh.

I looked down to see a gun tugged to the side of my dress which was now totally ripped. I didn't remember putting it there.

I pushed myself and ran with tremendous speed while taking the gun in my hands. My hands were shaking against the cold metal of the gun.

After running for about five more minutes I was certain that I had no other choice. It was past midnight and there was nobody on the streets to listen to my screams.

I skidded to a stop and turned around facing the men who were chasing me.

I grabbed the gun and pointed it straight to their approaching heads.

"Keep going, she won't shoot." Shouted one of them.

This is it. It's a do or die. I had to shoot them in order to escape. My finger was around the trigger.

The men were only ten feet away now.

I closed my eyes. I thought of all the horrible things that have happened to me and my family and how these men were a small part of it.

I remembered my mother's face. How she smiled before leaving us forever.

I remembered my father, who was struggling to free himself when my mom was taken away from us.

And then there was me, crying in the corner. Helpless and weak.

But not this time.

I opened my eyes pointed the gun on the men and shot.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

I didn't flinch even once as the bullet landed into the skull of the men sending a spray of blood all over.

They were on the ground now, limp. I looked at them and then at myself.

I killed them.

I dropped the gun and started to back off. I took quick steps backwards still staring at the men on the ground surrounded by blood.

I broke into a sprint then. I kept running and running thinking that getting far away will take me away from all the chaos.

But Little did I know, there was no escape to this.
