Chapter 23: Blackout

{A/N: This is the longest chapter so far. Enjoy :) }

I woke up with the sun shining directly into my eyes.

"Ughhh." I groaned, squinting.

"Hey, you okay now?" Taehyung asked.

I looked to the side of the bed and saw him standing by the bed. He was ready.

"Y-Yeah, I'm good." I said and sat up on the bed.

"There's still a half hour left before breakfast. Get ready." He said and slipped his shoes on.

"Where are you going?" I asked as I got out of bed.

"I'm going to take a walk around. I'll be back." He said and pulled his hood on.

That's when I saw it. That hoodie. He was wearing his black hoodie again.

"W-Wait." I said.

He stopped and turned to look at me.

"I'll come too." I said. That's the first thing that came to my mind.

"You haven't even brushed yet. It's okay, you get ready. I'll be back." He said and left.

I looked at the door for a second and then turned around and got into the bathroom.

"Okay, is everyone here?" Mark asked.

I didn't say anything. Taehyung'd said that he'd be back before breakfast. But it had been fifteen minutes since breakfast had started.

"You can continue having breakfast, but pay attention here as you do so." He said and started giving instructions for the day.

I glanced outside the dining hall almost 50 times while Mark talked.

"Everything okay? Where's Taehyung?" He asked me as everyone started to get up.

"I don't know. He said that he was going for a walk. But he never came back." I said as I looked at my phone.

I had called him three times already, but he hadn't picked up.

"Did you call him?" He asked, to which I nodded.

"Mark, everyone is ready." Ms. Mijin said and he had to leave.

We all were now gathered outside the dining hall.

"Okay, so, now, we'll be going for the treasure hunt. I'll go through the instructions again. The two teams will leave together. The clues are all spread around the entire town here, so follow the hints given. Again, the team that makes it to the final spot first, wins." Mark said.

I looked at the students all hyped up. Everyone was super excited for today's activity.

"Yo." Someone said and then an arm came around my shoulder.

"Where the hell have you been?" I asked him, shrugging his hand off.

"I went for a walk, but got lost." He said and laughed.
