A WEEK LATER.
"Mam, do you need something else?"
When I hear the voice I realise that I've been staring out of the window for quite some time. I look down at my hot chocolate that I've been stirring for the past ten minutes. It isn't even hot anymore.
The waiter looks at me with a soft smile.
"You've been stirring your hot chocolate for a long time. Do you need anything else to accompany it with?"
"Um no thanks. I'm sorry, I didn't realise it's been so long."
He gives me a cute smile before he leaves.
I finally take a sip of my hot chocolate. I'm currently in the same restaurant that I first saw Taehyung in. I'm sitting in the same booth and staring out of the window for any signs of him.
The truth is, the past week has been really tiring. With the school exams having begun, I have loads of work. I have to check papers, go for supervision and sometimes even tutor the students who need help if their teacher is busy. This entire week I've lived on cup noodles. Like literally cup noodles.
Taehyung didn't pay a visit after the last time we met. I've come here hoping that maybe I'd find him here. I don't know why I want to meet him. All this week I've been by myself and have interacted with almost no humans. I need someone to talk to.
It's a Saturday today. I'm not the party type of person. I've hardly gone to any in the past few months. Hyejin sometimes takes me to clubs on weekends but she isn't here anyways. But today I feel like I can't take anymore. I need to drink, I need to relieve my stress. Also there isn't school tomorrow so it won't be a problem.
After paying for my hot chocolate, I rush out of the restaurant and drive to a club nearby. I've never been here before.
As I get there, there are two huge bodyguards standing right in front of the entrance.
I glance nervously in all directions. I can't sneak in and neither do I have my fake id to get in the club.
I'm wondering what to do when suddenly two guys walk out on the street and start punching each other. The bodyguards rush to separate them and one of the guys winks to the other group of people standing near the entrance.
The group rushes inside while the bodyguards are busy trying to calm the guys down. I take the opportunity and sneak in with the group.
As I enter the door, I'm hit with the strong scent of alcohol. I look around. The entire club is jam packed with people everywhere. On the dance floor bodies are pressed against each other as they sway to the beat of the music. There's a scent scent of alcohol mixed with sweat in the air.
I carefully make my way to the bar as I make sure not to get anybody's attention. I'm in my jeans and a crop top with my black vans. This is the most un-party type look someone can ever pull.
When I finally make it to the bar, I sit in the corner seat and order for some tequila. I'm so in the mood to get wasted today. But I know that I'm going to regret my decision tomorrow morning because, 1) I have nobody with me who can make sure that I get home safely, 2) I'm probably going to be high enough to not remember my way back home alone, 3) also my phone's dead.
Despite knowing all these facts, I chug down the tequila as soon as the bartender puts it in front of me. It makes me feel refreshed and alive. Why didn't I come here earlier?
After about twenty minutes of non-stop drinking I'm now totally wasted. I get up from my chair pushing past a guy who tries to approach me and get to the dance floor. Without even giving it a second's thought I start swaying my body to the music. I'm enjoying this. I'm enjoying this too much.
