I'd been waiting for almost an hour and a half now. He'd told me that he'd pick me up at five but it was six thirty already. I was on the couch, snacking on a pack of nachos as I watched a kdrama.
I'd already changed into my hoodie. I'd also tried calling him a lot of times but he didn't pick up. All my mood for the date was gone. All I wanted now was to have pizza on the couch and binge watch something nice.
I got up to grab my phone from the kitchen when I heard my front door open.
I rushed into the hall to see who it was.
"Hey, I'm so sorry. I know I told you that I'd be here by five, but something came up." He said with his teeth chattering. He was shivering as he removed his shoes and his nose was all red.
"Why are you so cold?" I asked him.
"It's snowing outside." He said.
"What?" I said wide eyed.
I rushed to the window and to my surprise it was really snowing. It rarely snows here.
I came back only to see him on my couch, fixing his hair. I proceeded to the kitchen to look for my phone so that I could order pizza.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he took off his hoodie.
"Ordering pizza." I said as I looked for the restaurant's number in my contacts but before I could dial the number though, my phone was snatched from my hands.
"What do you mean 'ordering pizza'? We have a date, remember?" He asked, eyebrows raised.
"The date which you very conveniently were late too. I'm not in the mood now. I'd rather stay home now." I said, snatching my phone back.
"Hey, I said I was sorry. Something came up and I had to go. It's only six thirty yet. If we leave now, we'll still be able to get there on time." He said.
"Get where?" I asked as I locked my phone.
"You'll know. Okay, you're in perfect clothes because it's cold outside. Let's leave right now. Hurry, put your shoes on." He said and rushed to the front door.
I had no option but to follow so I put on my black shoes and followed him out. As we got out of the elevator on the ground floor, I shivered. It was really cold. It had stopped snowing, but the wind was too strong.
We quickly got into his car and he drove out of my apartment building.
——
"Are you driving us to the US?" I asked after two hours of continuous driving. He was driving at a high speed and took violent turns. We were out of the city by now. But the question was, where the hell was he taking me that took two freaking hours to get to?
"You can't drive to the US, dumbo. Just a couple more minutes and we'll be there." He said.
I rolled my eyes as I got back to looking out of the window.
After ten minutes, he stopped the car at a gas station.
"A gas station for a date. How romantic!" I said, rolling my eyes at him
"I need to take a pee break." He frowned and got out of the car.
I decided to stay inside because it was too cold to get out. I fidgeted with the radio trying to find a good station.
As I sat back in the seat, I saw Taehyung walking to the car with some other guy. He was pointing to the car as he said something to Taehyung and then Taehyung frowned.
"We'll have to wait. The rear tyre's punctured." He said.
I got out and saw the back right wheel punctured.
