Anika Rose was okay with going unnoticed. She preferred it. It gave her the time to focus only on school and convince her Mom that dance was a worthy career. But at the start of the new year rumours of a new student float in the air. Anika isn't ple...

"That it does." Anika smacks Brandon's bicep crying out a "Hey!"
"What it's true? But it seems like making friends would come easy to you." My gaze leaves Anika and returns to Brandon. I watch him as a small smirk spreads across his face. "What do you mean?" He drops his smirk as Anika turns to face him.
"I mean you're beautiful, kind, and you can dance, and you're pretty smart." Brandon slides the wall to sit next to Anika. "I would say all those qualities would make the perfect friend. And girlfriend." Brandon turns her his cheeks flushed. I scoff quietly watching him.
"What?"
"You would be the perfect girlfriend. You're smart, beautiful, and kind. There are no better qualities. I'm sorry, I've just had a crush on you for the longest time... I'm truly sorry." Brandon looks at her his eyes gleaming.
"Oh, well, I um-," Brandon moves closer to her. "I'm sorry, I don't know what to-," Anika stutters. "Wow, you're really close." Anika leans back but stops when /Brandon places his hand against her soft cheek. I watch carefully, watching as he moves into her space. "What are you doing," Anika whispers. Brandon closes his eyes with a smirk, placing his lips against Anika's pink ones. He places his hands on her tear-stained cheeks. I close my eyes. I cannot watch him kiss her. I cannot look at him as he kisses her. Why didn't he say he liked her this morning when told him about how I feel about her?
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean too. I just always wondered what it would be like to kiss you." I open my eyes looking over at the pair before returning to the empty hallways.
It didn't seem as if Brandon liked her when I spoke of her this morning in fact, he was quite adamant in saying that I liked her to the point of almost loving her. But he was quick to tell me to move on from her. Maybe that was him hinting at his infatuation with her. I am truly confused. I need to talk to Logan. Even if he and his brother aren't on the best term, I'm sure he can help me out.
♥
I sit with Logan on the bleachers staring off at the field while Logan expresses his concerns. "Brandon has a tendency to tell girls he likes them just to use them or just because he feels he was single for too long. It is quite rare that he actually likes someone. But I thought that he would be going after Danny, not Anika, he's never given her a single glance, but then again I don't know my brother well." Logan slips a corner of his sandwich into his mouth before continuing. "But you said you saw them kiss?" I nod taking a sip from my canned ginger ale. "I don't know dude. But I have a feeling that this might not end well." Logan points towards his brother.
Brandon and Anika walk towards the bleachers her hand in his. He takes a small bag from Anika who seems to be shaking. I look back at their hands, Anika's hand hangs limp not grasping Brandon's just loose and unresponsive. As they bear the bleachers Logan calls out.
"Hey, Dancer! What brings you here. And why are you with my jerk of a brother." Logan glares at his brother, he too notices their hands. Anika opens her mouth to speak but Brandon cuts her off.
