I stare at the girl in awe

I stare at the girl in awe. She is truly beautiful. She stands facing us the sun shining on her rich brown skin, appearing as if it was glowing. Her ebony hair flows in a wavy ponytail down her neck cascading down her shoulders. Her legs are long complimenting her slim figure. Her face is uncovered, there is not a trace of makeup covering her beautiful features. Her long legs are covered by black leggings that don't quite reach her ankles. I chuckle softly. Even in the cold morning, she wears a grey ribbed kami.

The girl and I make eye contact. I stare into her deep brown eyes, feeling a warm feeling cast over me as we stare deeply at each other. The girl drops our stare and rushes past us to the bleachers. I turn to her watching as she rushes to pack her things.

"Hey!" Logan calls from beside me. "You new?" The girl stops her packing and turns towards us watching us carefully. "I'm Logan. What's your name Dancer?" Logan continues. I watch the girl as she straightens, her bag being held tightly in her grip.

"My name is Anika, not Dancer." She speaks. Her voice is strong and unwavering. "I am not new here, unlike your friend." Her eyes flicker towards me. "Now, if you'll excuse me." She dashes off towards the school. I watch her retreating figure until it is no longer. An arm is placed on my shoulder. I turn to Logan who wiggles his eyebrows at me. "You seem to like her." I shrug. "I cannot be certain." Her name remains in my head bouncing off the walls along with the sight of her face and the faint smile that was present for a second or two.

I look at the board as soon as we walk in. "Seating Arrangements!" Logan groans. "I do not understand," I say looking at the board. "What is wrong with seating charts?" Logan huffs. "You're unable to choose where you want to sit and most of the time the people you sit with are your partners in every assignment." I shrug. "I still do not understand." I walk further into the classroom, taking note of where everything is located. "Hey Ash, I found our seats." Logan stands at the back of the classroom holding the back of a chair. I nod and walk through the rows towards him. "And lucky you, Dancer sits between us." My cheeks warm and I roll my eyes. "You are not going to let that go, are you?" Logan smirks and shakes his head. "Sit down Lover Boy." I groan and sit down. A desk in between us remains open as the class begins to fill.

I notice her as soon as she enters. She looks around the classroom, her eyes settling on the whiteboard. Her eyes scan the seating chart for a moment before she makes her way to the back of the class. Her tall frame makes her way through the rows as I had done minutes before. She does not look at us as she sits. She only looks past us it seems. Logan smiles at her arrival. "Hey, it's Dancer! So, asked the cheerleaders, you're not on the squad. Why not?" Logan asks. Anika shrugs. "I'm just not." Is all she says.

"Well, you should be, You're great at dance, Dancer." Logan smiles broadly. Anika let's out a small smile, her eyes twinkle and her face glows as the smile covers her once blank expression. Just as quickly as the smile came it was gone. "So, seeing as you don't plan on asking for our names, I'll tell you!" Anika rolls her eyes. "I don't plan on being your friend. So, I don't need to know your names." She glares at Logan.
