The soft clip of buttons sounds around my room as I snap my skirt into place. The pink twill mini skirt rest on my waist with my white tee tucked safely into the skirt. I stare at myself in the mirror with an eye of judgement.
"Hey, Anika?" Aisha pops into my room a small smile on her face. "Yes?" She steps further into the room. "Could I borrow your corduroy overall dress, please?" I nod and point her in the direction of my closet.
"So, a skirt?" Aisha calls from my closet.
"Yeah, I'm trying something different." I brush off the basic tee. "I think, I need a sweater. Could you toss me the chunky knit cardigan? The cream one?"
"Sure," Aisha walks out of my closet my sweater in hand. "Thanks," I take the sweater from her hand. Aisha nods. "I'm going down now, thanks for letting me borrow this," I smile and nod. Slipping the thick sweater onto my shoulder has me releasing a sigh. The warmth of the cozy sweater makes me relax into it. That's way better.

Scanning the hall, I still don't see any sign of Ash. I look back down at my phone, but no new text messages appear.
"Hey,"
I look up but sadly it wasn't Ash.
"Hey, Logan. Have you seen Ash?"
"I'm good, thanks for asking. How are you, Anika?"
Rolling my eyes with a sigh I reply. "Fine, now, Ash? Have you seen him?" Logan shakes his head. "No, I haven't. Why?" I look back down at my phone as I remember yesterday.
I remember placing my head in the crook of Ash's neck and staying there talking until he had to leave. I remember the rasp of his voice as he asked. "If I asked you out on a date, do you think you would say yes?"
"Hello," Logan waves his hand in front of my face. "Sorry, so you haven't seen him?"
"No, but I'll look out for him for you." I nod at him and walk off, Logan stops me. "Are you okay, Anika?"
"Yeah, I am,"

Class runs on and still no sign of Ash. And worries are beginning to swallow my focus.
"Anika!" Amour snaps at me.
"Yes," I turn to her. "What's up with you? You've been distracted all day!" I wince.
"Sorry,"
"Yeah, what is up with you? You were distracted during class too." Amour gasps.
"Her? Distracted in class? Miss. Focus Amour?"
"Hardy har. I'm just worried about Ash that's all," Amorette rolls her eyes. "Then call him," I looked down at my phone. I've been debating whether not I should call him all day.
