16 years later.....

The people of Paris have risen in
their tens of thousands. The King has fled. A new Republic is born.
There in the forefront of one column, march Enjolras, Ninette, Jaque, Grantaire, Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Joly, Musichetta, Marius, and Cosette. The march on singing the song of the revolution.

"They will live again in freedom in the garden of the Lord. They will walk behind the plough-share.
They will put away the sword. The chain will be broken and all men will have their reward!"

As the marchers come nearer, you see how many there are: thousand upon thousands. There marching among them are the ghosts from the past. The Amis who died and Eponine. Out of the crumbling elephant peers another ghost: the
grinning face of Gavroche. He climbs out to dance on the elephant, as the crowd fill the square.

"Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with
me? Somewhere beyond the barricade, is there a world you long to see? Do you hear the people sing? Say, do you hear the distant drums? It is the future that we bring when tomorrow comes!"

Paris 1886

An elderly Enjolras looks around the room. He is surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "And that is the story of the revolution and the brave men and women who came before you. The story of friendship..." He looks over and smiles at the elderly Marius, Cosette, Combeferre, Joly, and Musichetta. "Most importantly, the story of love." He looks over to the table beside his bed. There stood a picture frame of him and Ninette at their wedding.

A sad smile filled his lips as he thought of his wife

A sad smile filled his lips as he thought of his wife. They shared so many happy years. He knows she is waiting for him. He looks back to the crowd around him. "I'm ready to be with her again."

After so many goodbyes, and sweet farewells, Enjolras lies back and closes his eyes for the last time. That night he took his final breath.

His family and friends gathered around the grave him and his wife shared. Their plot right next to their fallen Amis from the revolution. On the stone it read,

'I will love you until the end of time.'

Adrian Alexander Enjolras 1806-1886

Ninette Victoria Enjolras 1812-1857

Standing next to the grave, invisible to the people, stood Enjolras, young again, with a grin on his face. "Never knew I could feel like this. It's like I've never seen the skies before. I want to vanish inside your kiss. Every day I love you more and more. Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing? Telling me to give you everything. Seasons may change. Winter to Spring. I love you, until the end of time."

Also invisible to the others, is Ninette, walking to meet her husband. "Suddenly, the world seems such a perfect place. Suddenly, it moves with such a perfect grace. Suddenly, my life doesn't seem such a waste."

She meets him and they hold hands in front of their tombstone.
"There's no mountain too high, no river too wide. Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side. Storm clouds my gather, stars may collide..."

Enjolras kisses Ninette's hands. "But I love you..."

She grins. "I love you..."

Both - "Until the end of time. Come what may! Come what may! I will love you, until my dying day."

They kiss and they begin to fade away as a bright light surrounds them.
