CHANGE
Lan Zhan laid Huang Jin's shivering body onto the bed and began to unravel the Gusu Lan sect outer robe from around her carefully making sure not to touch her skin. Wei Wuxian hovered closely behind. His eyes glued to the woman's body looking for any sign of movement.
A small trail of blood could be seen still creeping out the side of her mouth and running down the side of her seemingly fragile cheek. She was pale. She had lost a lot of energy and she seemed underfed. Up close like this he hadn't noticed just how delicate she looked.
Wei Wuxian leaned over to wipe the trail away, stopping himself absentmindedly, as he continued to watch Lan Zhan carefully undo the robe from around her.
"Just don't touch her yet," Wei Wuxian remembered to remind Lan Zhan, "I haven't removed the seal and it may still hurt you if you touch her."
Lan Zhan's only response was a quick "mn," as he gently removed the last of the outer rober from underneath the small frame.
"Alrighty, I will be right back ok...I have to grab some paper and make some talismans so that I can undo what she has done..." He says as he looks back and forth between the two next to him.
"It is going to take me a second, so if you want I think if you pass some of your spiritual power to her it would really help. I think she transferred quite a bit of her core when the spell backfired and so she is really weak," he quickly added, rubbing the back of his head nervously. He didn't understand why Lan Zhan was so particularly interested in her.
Lan Zhan continued to stare at the shivering woman but looked back up to Wei Wuxian.
His eyes were bright as ice. Wei Wuxian thought to himself. The concern and caring evident in them, but there was something else. He actually cares about this person.
But, as his mind began to churn with the feelings of jealousy, his eyes moved from the brilliant depths of ice and frost, to the shivering form laying on the bed. His heart instantly warmed and he could feel a warmth in his chest like he had not felt in years.
She is pretty amazing isn't she? He thought and instead of trying to chase away the thoughts he moved to start working on the talismans. There was no reason to be jealous. This felt right. He didn't know why, but this felt like what they were supposed to be doing. And who was he to argue with how his heart felt. Last time he did that he died.
He tried to focus on the swirling with the symbols he saw in the memory, and the vision of the woman silently sitting behind her guqin, lovingly looking at the swirling black mist caressing her wrist.
Lan Wanji watched as Wei Wuxian walked to the table on the other side of the Jingshi.
Wei Wuxian instantly grabbed a piece of talisman paper from the small stack in the corner of the room and started scribbling away, a look of fierce concentration on his face.
Lan Zhan sat there quietly. Closing his eyes listening to the rustling of parchment being scribbled on, and the constant mumbling that meant Wei Ying was thinking to himself.
It was over an hour later when Wei Wuxian, amidst a giant pile of crumpled up papers suddenly stood with a loud "oooookay. I think I got it."
He began walking over to Lan Zhan, a piece of paper that exactly resembled the one in the memory except backwards, clutched in his hand.
"So it is similar to the one she did, but she had added the wrong set of symbols together. She basically trapped herself in a seal. So I just used the same symbols she used but in the right natural order and in reverse," he explained walking over to Lan Zhan hurriedly.
