Huang Jin's morning was much like the same as the day before. She had awakened at exactly 4:30am as she had every day for as long as she could remember.
However, she had had terrible sleep. Horrible dreams had plagued her all night, her sleep had been beyond restless. Every time she tried to remember what the dreams were about, she couldn't recall even a single detail. The haunting visions were just out of her reach.
She had quickly and quietly made her way down to the training grounds and done her morning stretches, preceded by her morning workouts. She had finished it off with some rounds of sword fighting with an imaginary opponent.
By the time she finished it was right around the time everyone would be getting out of breakfast and starting their morning lectures and duties.
She was used to skipping breakfast normally, so when her tummy rumbled loudly in complaint from the neglect it was receiving from a single missed meal. "Traitor..." she spoke to her tummy and she shook her head, sheathing her sword quickly. Fine, she began to make her way to a berry bush she had spotted on her way down to the cold spring the day before when she heard "Huang Jin," in a serious tone from behind her. She spun around to see Lan Zhan standing on the far end of the training grounds once again.
"You skipped breakfast." He said matter of factly staring directly in her eyes.
She began to shuffle her feet, "Yeah. I...I was just finishing my training this morning that's all. I am used to not eating breakfast. So no worries, it really isn't that big of a deal." She tried to avoid the direct eye contact and the stern look directed at her.
"You must eat all meals in order to recover and train well." Lan Zhan said shortly, the stern look on his face unmoved by her excuse.
Huang Jin looked up bashfully and then straightened herself before replying "Fine, okay, I promise to not miss another today." She said truthfully...Yeah, I won't miss one TODAY, she laughed at herself.
"You will need to attend lectures in order to learn properly as well."
Huang Jin's eye brows furrowed, "You...you want me to come to lecture? I-I don't even know anything about that kind of stuff. Like blood lines, and family lines, and all that nonsense. Why would I need to know any of that?" she pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. All of that stuff was pointless anyway in her opinion.
"You will attend. I will see you in the Lanshi in 5 minutes." Without another word he turned and walked away. His tone was perfectly clear. She had no say in it. She would go, or else...
She stared after him, her arms now by her side, shoulders slumped once again. She shook her head and put her free hand on her face and rubbed her eyes with her thumb and forefinger. Uhggggggggggggggggggg. This was going to suck.
She never expected that she would actually have to attend lectures. She always learned best with physical practice, not writing down stuff...

It had absolutely been as terrible as she thought it was going to be. Lan Qiren had spent 90% of the class glaring at her, and when Lan Zhan finally got up to start teaching of course, that was when she had started to fall asleep.
She had tried to pay attention but all she heard were rules, after rules, after rules, all day long. It was so boooooring. Why did she ever join a clan if this is what they had to learn all day....
She had looked up after suddenly almost nodding off and looked around to see everyone was staring at her.
"You will copy the rules 100 times. Since you can not seem to pay attention." Lan Zhan said shortly. The same stern look on his face as always.
