SPIRITUAL TOOLS
Breakfast was soooo goooooooood, Huang Jin thought to herself, as she leaned back holding her stomach, her eyes closed, and contentment written across her face.
She had spent half the time trying to savor every last bite of the food in front of her, all while trying to ignore the whispers, and constant glances from the other cultivators in the room.
That's all they can talk about, eh. Oh look at the stupid girl in the room, she thought to herself. Her brows furrowed in frustration as she tried to not dwell on it.
It was suddenly all she could think about. The large pot of resentment that seemed to always be threatening to tip and spill its contents was right on the tipping point.
A tiny wisp of black smoke began to seep from her hand and tried to swirl around the cup of hot tea she had raised to her lips. She had been covering that hand with her other; as was the proper etiquette when drinking anything. As soon as she had seen it, she stilled, and focused quickly, concentrating on pushing down the resentful energy back into where it belonged.
God she needed to get her shit together She needed to keep a clear head.
After training this morning she had been able to figure out just how much she had lost due to her mistake. Her spiritual energy level was way lower than it would have normally been. She estimated right around 40%. She usually had plenty of spiritual energy to control the resentful energy by barely even thinking about it. Right now though.....
She looked around quickly seeing if anyone had seen her small mistake.
Lan Qiren had been staring directly at her, an incredulous face plastered onto his features.
There was no mistaking it; he had definitely seen it. Shit.
Oh of all the wrong times to lose her focus. She thought to herself and shook her head as the previous events flashed through her mind.
All of the inner disciples were pouring out behind her as they all began to split up going about their daily duties.
She heard footsteps approach her from behind, and her hands tightened unconsciously around her sword sheath in response. She was so used to being alone and on the road that she was having a hard time being around all these people. How could she trust that all of them wouldn't hurt her? You are fine no one is going to do anything to you. But she could feel the anxious energy approach her and stop abruptly. She willed herself to relax.
She turned around and saw Jin Ling and Sizhui bowing to her.
"We are sorry for intruding on you this morning." Sizhui said quickly.
"Yes, we are sorry." Jin Ling said but in a quiet mumble as if he didn't want anyone to hear him actually saying sorry. She smiled and bowed in return.
Wait a second. The boys had no reason to bow. They said they hadn't seen anything. But as she looked at them she could see a flush on both the boys cheeks. Her heart dropped. They definitely saw me naked.
Huang Jin breathed in deeply trying to control the overwhelming sense of rage trying to invade her mind. The hand on her sword tightened as she visibly tried to control her rage.
"Uh...fighting is not permitted in Cloud Recessess." Sizhui squeaked, starting to back up.
His hands were raised in alarm, his hand clutching his sword as well, but he made no move to draw it. He was obviously trying to deescalate the situation but the flush on his cheeks only made her more mad.
