You slid into your bed, even though you knew you were too tense to fall asleep anytime soon. But you didn't think Jimin was asleep yet, and you couldn't deal with sitting in awkward silence with him for any longer.

The apartment was quiet, quiet enough for you to hear your heartbeat thrumming rapidly in your chest.

"Jimin?" you asked curiously, propping yourself up. You could see him walking around the couch, scrutinizing it, his face conflicted in the half light of the living room.

"What's up?" he replied, startled at the sound of your voice.

"...What are you doing?" you asked him with a small smile.

"Oh," he ruffled the back of his hair, embarrassed, "Taehyung's kinda taking up the whole couch. I'm trying to find a spot."

Your heart was still thrumming, feeling like it was going to burst out of your chest when you spoke, "Do you wanna.. uh.. sleep in here?" you asked, chewing at your lip.

Jimin was silent for a few moments, stunned, before he snapped back to himself, "Um, I don't want to bother you. I can just sleep in my car," he jerked his thumb towards the door.

"That's ridiculous," you said, lowering your eyebrows, "I'm not gonna make you sleep in your car. But seriously," you lowered your voice so that it was more gentle, "It's not a big deal. Come on." You patted the bed next to you.

He hesitated, clearly conflicted, before he seemed to make up his mind. He padded into the bedroom and hesitated again as he stood next to the bed. He slipped his shirt off and let it fall to the floor.

Not expecting to see his abs, which were basically carved out of marble, you let out a little gasp as your eyes roamed his chest and stomach. "Jimin," you cried, falling back onto the bed with a groan.

"What?" he looked at you innocently, as if he didn't understand what you were saying. He was clearly enjoying your reaction. "You said I could sleep in here. I sleep shirtless. Is that a problem?" he batted his eyelashes at you.

"No. Not at all," you said shortly, unable to look at him. He smiled, satisfied, before he slid under the covers beside you.

But you got your revenge as your bare thigh brushed against his lower back. You were wearing underwear, but you had shed your shorts before you got into bed. He let out a hiss between his teeth, laying on his back. He looked over at you and saw that you were making the same innocent expression he had given you.

"What is it?" you asked, making your voice light and confused. Jimin chuckled and rolled his eyes at you, but you could see his face reddening, even in partial darkness. He didn't answer, and you laughed quietly.

There was silence except for your heartbeat and Jimin's breathing beside you. You tried to calm your body down, sure that if you could hear his breathing, he could hear yours. It was difficult.

You turned over on your side so that you were facing him. He was still laying on his back, his arms tucked behind his head. You could see the planes of his chest move up and down as he breathed, every shadow and line accentuated in the moonlight. You felt your stomach flutter, and you closed your eyes to avoid staring creepily.

But as your eyes closed you felt him shift beside you, and you opened your eyes to discover that he had turned to look at you.

"Stop being creepy," you said jokingly, with a small smile.

"You were doing it first. At least I'm looking at your face," he said, raising his eyebrows slightly. You felt your cheeks heat up, and you buried your head in your arm so he wouldn't see. He chuckled, clearly satisfied with himself for still having control of the situation.

"I'm going to sleep," you grumbled.

He looked over at you again, a tiny smile playing at the corner of his lips. His eyes glinted as he looked at you, before the emotion dropped off his face completely. He jerkily twisted his body around, with his back to you.

"Me too," his voice was sharper this time, no longer joking and friendly.

You panicked, wondering what you had done wrong. "Goodnight," you said softly, hoping he would be sweet to you again. You craved him and his teasing words.

There was no reply.

"I'm going to sleep," she grumbled. She had buried her face in her arm to hide, but Jimin could still clearly see the redness of her cheeks.

When she said this she sounded pouty, almost child like. He smiled a little bit as he gazed at her face, the curve of her lips, her hair flowing around her shoulder. He felt as if he was sitting in a bath tub of warm water, still and at peace.

But as soon as this pleasant feeling that seemed to come from looking at her face registered in his mind, he realized what he was thinking.

Stupid, stupid, he chanted to himself in his head.

After what this girl had tried to do to him, he couldn't let her invade his thoughts. Not thinking had seemed to work pretty well for a while, but it had become tiring. He didn't want to feel peaceful and warm when he looked at her. He wanted to feel angry. And that's what he was. Though he found it hard to believe, based on what he knew of her, that she was working with his devilish ex girlfriend, the evidence was all there.

He couldn't let his emotions get in the way and cloud his brain. He would be stupid if he believed anything other than the truth. And the truth was that this girl was only here to break his heart.

Jimin let the smile fall from his lips, his eyes going dead. He shoved the warm emotions out of his brain so quickly he was surprised he didn't get a headache. He quickly turned his back to her, not wanting to look at her face any more, afraid of what it would do to him.

"Me too," he said, his voice unfriendly and abrasive. Nothing like the way he had been speaking to her moments before.

He heard her gasp inwards a little bit. It was subtle, he wouldn't have heard it if the apartment wasn't as quiet as it was, and it momentarily filled his chest with regret. She was hurt by his sudden change in tone.

But then he reminded himself of who she was, what she was doing, and who she was friends with. It was easy to shove the remorse down once he reminded himself of that.

"Goodnight," she said, her voice soft. She was trying to bring him back, at least for a few seconds before they went to sleep.

He didn't bother to answer.
