When you woke up, your head was blank. You stared up at the ceiling, willing the images of last night not to flow into your mind. But, of course, they did.
Jimin smiling at you from across the party. The painted sunset on the roof. His quiet voice as he told you things you never thought he could tell you sober. The look on his face as he stormed off the roof.
Your eyes were immediately drawn to his jacket, which was still sitting on your dresser.
You jumped out of bed and went to kitchen, hoping that by finding something productive to do you might be able to force Jimin out of your head.
Before you could do anything, there was a knock at your door. You furrowed your eyebrows and glanced down at your phone. It was 9:40, and you wondered who could possibly be visiting you. You hoped it wasn't blackout drunk Taehyung.
You opened the door to find Jin, holding a big paper bag.
"Jin Hyung," you said, smiling.
"Good morning, yeodongsaeng," he said, pecking you on the top of your head.
You didn't bother asking him what he was doing there, just wordlessly stepping out of the way so he could walk past you into your apartment.
"I figured I owed you after I set you up last night," he set his bag down on the kitchen counter, and you closed the door, following him into the kitchen. "I know you don't cook for yourself, so I'm cooking you food."
This was such a Jin thing to do, so typical of him, and you couldn't help but smile. He went about his business, unloading his ingredients onto the counter.
"Thanks, Jin," you said.
"That's Jin Hyung to you," he said jokingly, and you rolled your eyes. You hopped up onto the counter, out of his way.
"You're up early," you said.
He shrugged, "Who needs sleep."
"What kept you up?" you asked, raising your eyebrows at him. You knew he was joking to cover it up, and that something was going on with him. All Jin ever did was listen and help everyone else with their problems, but you had seen for a while he had his own.
He paused, his hands busy cooking, but his mouth silent.
"You know how weddings have a funny way of reminding you what you don't have," Jin said, sharply cracking an egg, "It's not just me. I know the others feel it, too."
You nodded, completely understanding. You knew Jungkook and Jimin felt it. You had felt the pang as you read Yoongi and Hoseok's text about the engagement party. You ignored it for the sake of the couple.
"I'm sorry you feel that too," you said with a small frown, "You'd be a perfect husband, thought."
