Seoyun stood up, absolutely unmotivated.
Grace knocked at her door before opening it, dragging herself to Seoyun's bed. Laying down on it, she groaned.
Suddenly she aggressively wiggled around, whining. "I don't want to go hiking."
"Me neither." Seoyun yawned while stretching.
"I think I'll just wear my sweatpants, I really don't have the nerves to get ready." Seoyun said. "Me too." Grace decided. "My parents aren't home, I'll make breakfast." Grace said as she stood up. "Wait, I'll help you." Seoyun stood up as well.
-
"Oh, that's a different bus." Grace said as they arrived at the bus stop. Felix and Seungmin greeted them sleepily.
"You can already enter the bus." The teacher informed everyone. As the four of them went inside, they decided that they would sit in the back, since there were four seats next to each other. "I want to sit by the window!" Grace said while walking to the back. "Me too!" Seungmin yelled. Are you for real?
Seoyun internally sighed. Felix was walking behind her, furrowing his brows as he saw how her shoulders sank, since she had to sit next to him.
He didn't talk for the whole ride, not even listening when someone talked, being busy with overthinking.Did I do something wrong? Why did she let her shoulders sink like that?
He looked to his right, seeing her sleeping with her head leaned against Grace' shoulder.
-
The bus stopped. Shaking Seoyun awake, Grace told her that they arrived. She yawned and stretched, standing up after. As they got out of the bus, the teacher told them that the whole route would take one and a half hours in total, making the students groan. Nonetheless, they started walking slouchily.
On either side of them were only trees visible as they walked on a grassy path. In fact, the path was so grassy that they couldn't take proper steps. Instead, they had to raise their leg high to trample down the grass. But that path ended soon and they had to walk further uphill on a stony, uneven one. The people who hadn't got proper shoes on were basically being tortured.
"I'm sweating.. so.. bad." Seungmin said out of breath as he took step after step.
"My shirt is sticking onto my body." Grace said, equally out of breath.
"I can't breathe anymo- Fuck, ouch!" Seoyun hissed, kneeling down as she clutched her ankle. "Oh no." Seungmin said, turning around. "Can you still walk?" Grace asked Seoyun concernedly. Felix turned around as well, watching Seoyun as she tried to stand up.
Unfortunately, she couldn't, hissing once more with closed eyes.
Felix took a step towards her, wanting to extend a hand to help her up, ready to offer her a piggy back ride. But Seungmin had already done that before he had the chance to.He let his hand fall.
Seungmin knelt down so that she could get on his back, but she refused. "We barely managed walking up on our own, I don't want you to do that with me on your back." She said.
"We are almost there, come on." Seungmin demanded. She sighed, giving in.
"Thank you Seungmin, you're an angel." Seoyun said as Seungmin stood up with her on his back. "Everything for you." Seungmin said as he breathed heavily since it was going uphill only.
Felix started walking again slouchily, eyes pinned onto the ground.
-
At some point, they arrived. There was grass everywhere, not a single tree near them. Seungmin let Seoyun down, starting to breathe in and out deeply as he leaned forward, supporting himself with his hands on his knees. "I'm so sorry." Seoyun looked at him worriedly while running a hand up and down his back. "It's okay." He said, standing upright again.
"Okay students! You can enjoy the view now, we will stay here for a while before going back."
Ms. Wilson, the Australian teacher, said.
"Ms. Wilson, could you come here?" Grace called her teacher. "What's the matter?"
"Seoyun accidentally twisted her ankle and now she can't walk properly anymore." Grace informed her. "Oh no." The teacher went over to Seoyun, who was sitting on the grass. "Is it this ankle?" She asked as she lightly touched Seoyun's left ankle, to which Seoyun nodded.
Ms. Wilson called over Mrs. Yang, the South Korean teacher. "What happened?" She concernedly asked. "You have the cold compress, right? Seoyun twisted her ankle." She said. "Yes, but it might not be that cold anymore." Mrs. Yang said as she took her backpack off, opening it.
"Here." She said, handing the cold pack over to Seoyun. "Thank you." She said, lightly pressing it onto her ankle. "Don't stand up!" Ms. Wilson warned her. "I won't." Seoyun reassured her.
The teachers went away, leaving them alone.
Seoyun sighed, putting the cold pack onto the ground so that she could lay down and put her ankle onto it. "Hey, Felix! Oh- what happened?" A guy asked as he saw the cold pack. "I was dumb and incautious, so I accidentally twisted my ankle." Seoyun said, chuckling. "Man, that sucks." The guy said, sitting down next to her."Oh, I'm Chris by the way."
