Chapter 11: Social Suicide.

Aurora took Adam's hand as he walked beside her into the school Monday morning. After their kiss, Adam told her that he'd really like to get to know her as more than a friend, which is what Aurora completely wanted.

They were greeted by her friends, Katherine and Alexis.

"You look cute together!" Alexis squealed as she saw us.

"Uh, thanks." Adam replied, blushing slightly.

James and Trevor soon joined the group and everyone was dying to know how they'd gotten together.

"That's for us to know," Aurora said, "and you to never find out."

When the bell for first period rang, the group went to their respective classrooms.

Adam had to leave early because of a doctor's appointment, so Aurora was left alone after 4th period.

"Aurora!" a boy named Devon called out.

"Yes?"

"Why are you dating Adam? That's like social suicide!"

Aurora got in the person's face so fast, it even scared her a little.

"What did you just say?"

Devon flinched a bit, but stood his ground.

"Why date him if you could have me?"

"I don't even know you." Aurora said, rolling her eyes.

"But you could."

"No, thank you."

Devon took a step closer to her and pressed her against the wall.

"You'll be sorry later." Devon whispered, kissing her temple.

Aurora shuddered as she felt his lips make contact with her skin.

"Aurora! Are you okay?" Katherine said, as Devon backed off and walked away.

"I'm fine." Aurora lied.

Katherine gave her a look, seeing through her lie. She took Aurora by the arm and led her to girls room.

"Tell me everything." Katherine demanded.

So, Aurora did.

Katherine listened intently, digesting everything Aurora said.

When Aurora finished her tale, Katherine hugged her.

"Social suicide? That's ridiculous! Adam is a great guy. Don't let Devon's words get to you."

The girls heard the bell ring and they walked out to their cars, ready to go home after the long school day.
