Chapter 3

The referee stands in between the two. "You don't mind me streaming our battle do you?" Raihan asks, fiddling with his phone for a few moments. "Be my guest, if you want it live whenever you get your butt kicked that's your own choice." He deadpans. "Ha ha, very funny..." He presses a button and smiles. "And we are live! You ready to lose Uila?" She grins. "You mean me win? Definitely." They shake hands and walk to opposite sides of the field. "This is a 4v4 unofficial double battle between Gym Leader Raihan and Kalos Elite 4's Uila. The battle will stop when one's team is all fainted or one forfeits. Please send out your first pokemon." The stadium was beginning to fill, which made Uila nervous, due to never battling like this before. She shakes her head and grabs two pokeballs.

"Stronger than lightning, show them your thunder Manectric, Dedenne!" Raihan releases his Flygon and Gigalith, immediately kicking up a sandstorm. Uila sighs but snaps out of it. "I'll let you have the first move, Uila. Ladies first." She grins. "Your death. Manectric, use Thunder Wave followed by Thunderbolt on Gigalith. Dedenne, use Geomancy on Flygon followed by Dazzling Gleam." "Flygon, use Dragon Claw on Manectric. Gigalith, use Stonedge on Dedenne." Uila's eyes narrow. "Dedenne, jump onto Flygon's back and use Fleur Cannon to finish it. Manectric, use Extreme speed to get in close, then finish with Hyper Beam." The two electric types work in sync, taking slight damage from the sandstorm. Flygon was the first to faint, but Gigalith fell shortly after. Uila put on a smile.

"You were saying?" He huffs and withdraws his pokemon. "You won't be cocky in a moment." He sends out Sandaconda and Duraludon. Uila mentally curses as she didn't have this region's pokedex yet, so she would have to wing it. With a quick moon blast followed by fairy wind, Sandaconda was out, but Raihan wasn't going out without a fight. Raihan withdrew his Duraludon into its pokeball. The pokeball enlarges, and Raihan sends a wink at his phone before throwing the large ball behind him. An extremely large Duraludon lets out a loud roar.

Uila tries to hold in her grin. "So you brought out the big boy huh? Fine then. Manectric!" Said pokemon nods, puffing out its chest to reveal a Manectricite. Uila holds up her hand, showing the keystone shining brightly. "That is an impressive show of power, but I am afraid playtime is over. It's showtime Manectric, Mega Evolve!" A bright flash overtakes the stadium, and when it is gone, Mega Manectric is growling loudly. "Manectric, use Wild Charge followed by Electric fang. Dedenne! Use charge up moonbeam!" "Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion!" "Dedenne now!" A powerful fairy-type attack hit the Alloy Pokemon, and with the combined hits from a powered up Manectric, the Dragon type stood no chance. It shrunk down before Raihan returned it.

"Duraludon is unable to battle, therefore Uila along with Manectric and Dedenne are the winners!" There is a stunned silence in the arena, before a deafening roar. Uila takes a moment to look at the crowd that had gathered and sighed. Well there goes trying to keep somewhat quiet about her location. Uila walks up to meet Raihan in the middle. He shakes her hand. "You sure you don't want to try your hand at the Gym Challenge?" She sighs. "I'll think about it."

They begin to head towards the exit of the arena, with Uila withdrawing Dedenne. Lucario hops onto a now normal Manectrics back. "So what was that thing that happened with Manectric?" Uila smiles. "That was a phenomenon called Mega Evolution. It can only happen in certain cases if the trainer's bond is strong enough with the pokemon they are fighting with. I only tend to Mega Evolve a few pokemon: Manectric, Lucario, and Garchomp. I can also use Alola's speciality, which could have taken you down quicker with Dedenne, but I wanted to be a little flashy." "That's awesome, and so was that battle. I wouldn't be surprised if you start gaining a fan club from that battle."

She groans and he laughs. "I had enough of that in Alola and Kalos. I don't want another." Raihan grins and slings his arm over her shoulder, making her realize just how tall he was. "It's inevitable princess, it's gonna happen." Uila's face grows warm at the nickname. "Princess? Where did that come from?" He shrugs. "It seemed like it fit you so well, since you battle and look like royalty." She shakes her head. "Rubbish, and you know it." He shrugs and puts his hands in his jacket pockets. "Believe what you want. Now, we have to get your instagram set up."

She sighed. How did this happen again?
