Chapter 7

The trio make their way to a small cafe and settle down, Lucario sitting in Uila's lap. "So how did you stumble upon this place?" He laughs. "It's actually kind of funny. Leon got lost when we were younger, and I got hungry half-way through looking for him. I came in and there the bastard was, just sitting at a table and eating a pastry like he wasn't missing for 2 ½ hours." Uila laughs. "That sounds like him. My younger brother is just like that. I believe he is around Hop's age right now. He would always wonder off when he was a toddler." Uila let a sad smile across her face.

"I'm sure he is completing the Island challenges right now. Probably opening a can of whoop-ass on Team Skull." She laughs. "Island challenges are similar to Gym Challenges, but instead of a Gym Leader, you challenge a totem pokemon. When you win, you get a Z-crystal, which gives you a special move to use by powering up a Z-Band. Right now Professor Kukui is holding up my previous status as champion. Team Skull is a group of thugs, who like to wreak havoc across the islands. I'm sure Hau has it covered though." Raihan nods. "If he's anything like you Uila, he is probably half-way through the challenges now." Uila smiles. "Probably, moving on, what do you normally get here?" "Their curry is pretty good."

A few tables away 4 Gym Leaders, mainly Melony, Nessa, Milo, along with Bea, who had been dragged along unwillingly. "They are so adorable!" Melony restrains a squeal. Nessa shushes her. "I'm trying to get a name." "If he's anything like you Uila, he is probably half-way through the challenges now." "Got a name! Uila! Wait, isn't she the girl he battled and got his butt kicked by?" Melony squinted, before a look of realization crossed her face. "I think so, but isn't she a Kalos Elite 4 member? Why is she here." Bea looked up from her phone, pushing it into Melony's face. The title read: 'Electric-Type Elite 4 Member leaves the Group.' Melony snatches the phone and scans the article. "It basically said that she was sick of being stuck inside all day, and wanted more freedom." She scans through the article a little more. "Holy Shit." Nessa raises a brow. "What?" "She was the previous champion of Alola, and defeated Diantha, but let Diantha keep her position." Bea begins to snicker. "I guess it took a serious ass whoopin' for Raihan to catch feelings."

"So you caught Lucario as a Riolu on Poni Island before you got your starter?" Raihan asks before taking a sip of his drink. "Yeah, Father actually felt kind and took me out to get a Pokemon Partner, that's when I caught an Electrike myself. I am glad, because when they found out they were pregnant with Hau, they started to forget about me. I was 12 when Hau was born, so I had barely been around when he was born, just starting on the island challenges. There I met Kukui, who is the current champion and professor of Alola. I also met Guzma, my ex." Uila drags a hand down her face. "My parents were quick to remember me when I became champion though. And Hau and I grew close. When I left when I was 18, it was because Aether was using me to catch pokemon, Guzma and my parents were stealing funds from me, and I got fed up. I packed my stuff, resigned my position, broke it off with Guzma, and got a flight to Kalos."

She sighed, taking a drink of her tea before continuing. "Hau tried coming with me. I couldn't allow that. He was only 6, and I was nowhere near able to care for him. Plus he deserved to grow up in his homeland, with his parents. I had an Oricorio take him home, I just hope he doesn't hate me for that." Raihan reached across the table and grabbed her hand. "I'm sure he doesn't. Tell you what," He starts. "How about after Challenger season, we take a trip to Alola?" Ulia grins. "I guess so, that is if I don't kick your ass hard enough to gain the title of champion." Raihan rolls his eyes. "Look who's getting cocky now?"

Melony blinks at the conversation between the two. "Wow, that's a sad story. I can see why she left Alola." "How about after challenger season, we take a trip to Alola?" That catches the attention of the entire table. They watch as Uila grins. "I guess so, that is, if I don't kick your ass hard enough hard enough to gain the title of champion." Nessa whistles. "Wow, she is on fire. I like this girl." "Look who is getting cocky now?" They hold back snickers and watch as the Pokemon in Uila's lap tugs on her sleeve. "Alright, only one. You can't eat all of them, the other pokemon need one as well." She pulls a tin out of her bag, and pulls a pastry out and hands it to her pokemon. The pokemon catches Bea's attention. "That's a Lucario!" They look at her confused. "Lucario is a Fighting Steel type, they are pretty Rare. They can mega evolve as well as feel people's aura. They are awesome!" Bea practically had stars in her eyes.

The two begin to get up. "Anyway, I am wanting to get some training with Froakie in the Wild Area. Maybe start teaching him some Martial Arts for his final evolution." One look told the trio what they were going to do. 'Follow them'. "Yeah, but try and take it easy on them, you do have the opening ceremony tomorrow, and Froakie just hatched yesterday." Uila nods, then seems to remember something. "Oh yeah, I forgot to call Professor Sycamore to thank him. I'll call him on our way to the wild area." Melony's brows furrow. "Sycamore..?" "The Professor of the Kalos region." Bea speaks up. "While doing that, I should introduce you two. You both have a fondness for Dragon-Types. He helped me out when I got to Kalos, like the family I hardly had. Play nice." Uila says. "I probably call Kukui to check on how Hau is doing. I'm sure he is already past Papa Hala." "Who is Hau?" Nessa whispers. "Her biological brother I think." Melony replies.

UIla picks up her phone, entering Professor Sycamore's number and waiting for him to pick up. A few seconds later, his face pops up. "Hello?" Uila waves. "Good day Augustine! How are you doing?" He smiles. "Ah, Uila, I see you have made it to Galar safely. How is the egg?" She smiles. "Actually, I wanted to thank you for it. I appreciate you getting me the starter since I chose to stick with my original team." Sycamore laughs. "It's no problem. Anyway, who is that with you?" "That is the second thing I wanted to talk about. This is Raihan, he is the Dragon-Type Gym Leader here in Galar. I was hoping you guys would get along well." Raihan waves. "Hello Professor." "Hey, I assume you are the one who has been showing my sister here around?" "That I am." "How did you two meet?" "We met in the wild area. Leon, the current champion, and I were doing some training and rivalry stuff. A Gigantimaxed pokemon appeared outside of its den, so Leon and I made a competition to see who could catch it. Turns out Uila was trying to do the same thing but we knocked it out before she could. Then I showed her the way to Hammerlocke, which is where my gym is."

The Professor chuckled. "I'm placing my trust in you, don't let her get hurt." Uila snaps her head over to the phone. "Augustine Sycamore! You know damn well I can take care of myself." He laughs. "I know, but it is a new region and I want my little sister to be safe." "I'm not that much younger than you!" The Professor laughs. "Anyway, it was good to see you, but I have to go. We just got a new Mega Stone in that I am wanting to research. If it lines up with one of your pokemon I'll send it over." "Thanks Augustine, talk to you later." She hangs up, turning to Raihan, who now had Lucario on his shoulders. "Lucario seems to like you now." "I'm glad."
