Chapter 11

Uila smiles as she made it to Hulberry, taking in the oceanic scenery. Her attention is drawn by a group of people surrounding someone. "Leave! The chairman has some important things to take care of!" The people reluctantly scatter, and Uila goes back to minding her own business, checking her phone for nearby hotels. "Excuse me, Uila?" She looks up to find the chairman in front of her. "Yes sir, how can I help you?"

"Yes, I was curious about you and was wondering if you would be able to attend lunch with us." Uila raises an eyebrow. "Sure I guess so." He smiles. "Great! We'll meet you there after your battle." She nods and the woman beside him steps up. "Hurry up and win your battle, the chairman cannot be kept waiting." Uila sweat drops and nods. "Alright." She watches the two walk off and she heads to the gym, not wanting to face the wrath of the woman from before.

She registers and changes, returning Lucario to his pokeball and smirking. She swapped Boltund to the front of her party, she figured that since he was a low enough level he would be decently fair. She entered the Challenge room and stared at the puzzle before moving forward. A few steps in she encounters her first gym trainer. "Hey! If you think you are good enough to battle Nessa you are going to have to go through me!" She sends out a Wailmer. "Let's show them our spark Boltund!" Boltund lands gracefully in front of the trainer. "Use spark!" The attack one-hit KO's the wailmer, causing Uila to blink and pause. 'I retract my earlier thought, he is a little too high-leveled...' She sweatdrops, but continues through the puzzle, wiping out both the second and third trainers and getting to the stairs.

She holds her head up high as she enters the pitch, standing across from Nessa. "I would say that I am surprised by you completing my challenge so easily, however watching your battle with Milo I am not surprised. Don't expect me to hold back." Uila smirks. "Don't expect me to either." The walk to opposing sides of the field. "Let's wash her away Goldeen!" Uila sighs, grabbing a pokeball from her belt. "You know, water types have never quite been my cup of tea, seeing as I really only have one. Let's give her the shock of her life Boltund!" Boltund growls at the Goldeen. "Begin!" The ref shouts and we waste no time. "Boltund Quick Attack to get in close, then Thunder Fang followed by Bolt Strike!" Boltund follows my directions and knocks out Goldeen. Nessa winces and returns Goldeen.

"Let's do some Damage Arrokuda!" "Boltund, crunch!" "Use Poison Jab!" Boltund got struck with a poison jab, causing the white fur on its body to start turning a sickly purple. "Use Thunder Fang to finish it off!" The arrokuda faints and Uila withdraws Boltund with it, not wanting to put said pokemon through pain. "Come on Froakie! Let's finish her!" "Let's go Drednaw. It's time to Dynamax!" "Froakie, use pound followed by Dig!" Froakie hits the pokemon, bouncing down and digging into the earth. "Now, hit it with dig and finish it off with cut!" Drednaw groans before shrinking and fainting.

Suddenly Froakie was enveloped in a blue light, and I saw his form growing taller. When the light dimmed, a Frogadier was left in Froakies place. "You evolved!" Frogadier ran and tackled Uila into a hug. "I told you that you had to be patient. It doesn't immediately happen, it takes time like everything does." "Dier!" She holds out her hand for her pokemon to take, and shakes Nessa's hand. "Your pokemon sure were something, I can tell you are going to get pretty far, and for that I wish you luck. Your next gym will be located in Motostoke." Uila nods. "Thank you for the fulfilling battle."

She makes her way out of the gym, getting a water-type uniform that she couldn't wear even if she wanted to. She headed over to the restaurant, letting out Lucario after feeding Boltund a Pecha Berry. She almost cooed at Lucario and Frogadier talking and walking side-by-side. She sneakily takes a photo and uploads it to Instagram, captioning it with: 'Look at my boys.'

She puts her phone away as she makes it to the restaurant, entering it to find an Orange-Haired woman along with Hop, Gloria, and Victor sitting at the table with the Chairman. "Ah, Uila, just the one we were waiting for. How was your battle? I see Froakie evolved." She nods. "It was a great battle, Froakie took out drednaw pretty easily through dig and cut. Then he evolved. Look at my strong boy!" She says, smiling and scratching Frogadiers head. She takes a seat, with Lucario once again climbing into her lap, and she turns to the Orange-Haired woman. "I'm Uila. Good to meet you." She nods. "Sonia. Nice to meet you as well." They turn their attention to the Chairman. "So Sonia, you said that you were studying the Darkest day correct?" She nodded. "Correct." "Well then, I would recommend you check out the Vault in Hammerlocke." Uila subconsciously perked up at the name. "Anyway, Uila, you are from Kalos correct?" She nods. "What was it like over there?" She thinks for a moment. "Well, there was a lot more technology, and there was a fun thing called Pokemon Showcases they did. Those are the only differences I can think of at the moment. Unless you count Mega Evolution." "Mega Evolution? What is that?" "It's basically where a pokemon uses something called a Mega Stone to Temporarily Evolve another Stage." "Interesting."

Uila is startled by a buzz of her phone. She notices an Incoming call. The caller ID read: Augustine Sycamore. "One moment please." She gets up, her two pokemon following her away from the table. "Hello Augustine, how are you doing?" "I am doing perfectly fine Uila. I'm calling about your position in the Elite 4." She groans. "Please tell me they found someone to replace me." The people from her table turn their attention to her. Augustine laughs. "Yes, they found someone to fill that role, which was what I was about to tell you." Uila sighs. "Good. I wouldn't be able to stand it if they made me come back." "I know. Anyways, I also have a new Mega Stone I can send you for your Garchomp. It might give you a little boost." She smiles. "Thanks Augustine, you really know how to make a girl feel special." He chuckles. "I've gotta spoil my little sister." "Yeah yeah, whatever. Send it to the central PokeCenter in Hammerlocke. I'll have a friend pick it up for me." He gives a mock salute. "Aye aye captain. Now, I have work to get back to, I know who is picking it up so I'll make sure Nurse Joy knows. It should be there soon. Bye." "Bye Augustine." She waves at the camera and heads back over to the table.

"Sorry about that, whenever he calls it normally has to do with some serious stuff. I'm just glad they got everything resolved." The chairman nods. "So what role needed filling?" Uila reaches into her bag and pulls out the tin of PokePuffs. "My old position in the Elite 4." Hop and Sonia choke. "Elite 4!" Victor says surprised. Uila calmly hands Frogadier and Lucario a Pokepuff. "Yep." "You were second to Diantha?" Uila looked up at the chairman. "Oh, I defeated her but after leaving the champion title in Alola I didn't want to become champion, so she put me in the elite four." Everyone around me stilled. "Can we ask why you left championship in Alola?" Sonia asks. "Oh I don't mind sharing. People were basically just using me for money, or using me to catch pokemon. I eventually got fed up with it after 5 years and went to Kalos. I stayed in Kalos for another 6 years before getting tired of that and came here." A couple of moments pass in silence before Oleana speaks up. "Chairman Rose, we have a meeting to get to. We must be leaving." He nods. "Alright, good luck to you all. I hope to see you in the Semi-Finals." The pair leave the restaurant, and Uila begins to stand. "We need to be heading to the next gym, I am also needing to call up Kukui. It was good seeing you." She says her goodbyes and her, Frogadier, and Lucario exit the restaurant.
