Chapter 11: Family Comes First

~Jaden's POV~

Me and Jesse were in such a hurry to rush outside. There was a chance to save (Y/N) and we both took our chances.

The closer we got to a huge structure that was the size of Duel Academy, we saw (Y/N) at the very top staring us down, eyeing us and...someone else beside her...Marcel?

Jesse started to slow down and come to a stop. He looked up to see (Y/N) in awe. Then he turned towards me and gave me a smile, "Jaden. I think it's time we part ways." He said to me.

"W-What are you talking about Jess?" I asked him in shock. Concern wrapped around my voice.

"I mean i'm goin up there alone. I need to do this. My sister needs me more than ever now." Jesse sounded determined.

"Jesse...no...your sounding insane. Your risking your life going up there on your own. There's no way you'll defeat both (Y/N) and Marcel at the same time." I explained.

I didn't want to see Jesse hurt. I wanted to help him be safe.

Jesse huffed and placed both his hands on my cheeks. His soft touch wasn't really helping my feelings right now...

"Listen Jay. For ever what reason (Y/N) wants you and you alone. We can't let her get her hands on you. We have no idea what she'll do to you if she sees you. She might hurt you and...I can't let that happen knowing that I could of prevented it." He turns his attention towards the structure again, "...and right now i'm preventing it. So please just-"

I kissed Jesse on the lips to make him stop talking. When I let his lips go, I saw his cheeks blush and he touched his lips with the tips of his fingertips out of surprise.

I started to tear up. My voice sounded with sadness and with pity, "You can't go without me Jesse. I know (Y/N) needs you but other people need you also, all your friends, Duel Academy..." I paused, "Me..."

Jesse rubbed my hair one last time and gave me a slight smile, "Family comes first Jay."

Jesse turned his back towards me and walked away. He headed straight for the main structure where (Y/N) and Marcel were waiting for him.

As Jesse walked farther and farther...so did my happiness.

This was the first time...where I felt such overwhelming sadness that I can't feel anything anymore.

Everything was my fault! I hate myself because I ruined everything!

Why was I so selfish and so mean to (Y/N)? I was her boyfriend! I cheated on her with Jesse! I'm so pathetic!

All of my friends are hurt and are in pain because I let (Y/N) become evil! It was all my fault!

I just let Jesse go and try to survive a suicide mission just to save me and (Y/N).

I...let...everyone...close to me...feel pain and sorrow. It left me with eternal suffering!

I need someone to balance out this pain in my heart and soul! I need someone by my side to comfort me, support me and to love me forever...someone who never stopped loving me...
