So we're taking the long way home
Michela does not know where she is. She looks around and does not even recognize anything. She walked up to a store and went inside. She walked up to an employee.
"Hello, where am I?"
The employee looked at her.
"You are in Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland. Is everything alright, miss?"
Michela gasped. She couldn't believe that she was in Maryland. The guy she asked looked at her in worry.
"Hey, is everything alright? What is your name miss?"
Michela just looked at him.
"My name is Michela..."
The worker nodded.
"My name is Jake. Are you alright Michela? You are covered in sand."
Michela shook her head. Jake nodded.
"Wait one second."
Jake walked away for a few minutes. He went to tell his boss that he was done for the day. He came back in his regular clothes and took Michela's hand.
"Come with me and you can talk to me."
Michela blindly took his hand and let him lead her away. He took her in his car.
"Explain to me what's wrong."
Michela looked into his dark green eyes. She felt she could trust this stranger. She nodded. She spilled everything that happened the past day. Jake listened carefully and hugged her in the end because he saw how much she was hurt.
"Thank you for listening to me Jake."
Jake nodded.
"Hey, I'm not doing anything for the rest of the day. Can I help you?"
Michela looked at him in confusion.
"Why do you want to help me?"
She was so confused by the question. Jake smiled at her.
"You are a great person Michela. I want to help bring you home. *He smirked* Plus, I don't live with anyone so no one would care."
Michela laughed.
"So what do you say Miss Michela Kastle, do you want to go on an adventure with me?"
Michela stroked her invisible beard.
"Eh, what the hell! Sure!"
Jake smiled a big goofy smile.
"Yesss!!!!"
Michela laughed and Jake started up his car and turned up some music.
"Let's ride!"
And so started the journey of Jake and Michela. Two strangers, yet they trust each other enough to journey from Maryland to New York.
