DAY 68

"MAY BALITA NA BA ULI?" Bobbie is getting so frustrated by the day. Hindi na kasi nadagdagan yung balita kay Adrian and it's taking so long. "Get me something new at bibigyan uli kita ng bonus. Work on it faster."

All her life sanay siya na kaya niyang makuha agad ang lahat. In just a snap of her fingers everything falls perfectly in place.

The man on the other line said.

"He will be, nagtatago nga siya eh." She said, irritated. "I am not paying you to slack off and give me lame excuses. Hindi ko kayo pinagtatrabaho ng libre to give me this kind of a job."

"Babalitaan uli kita ma'am basta may bago kaming makuha." The voice on the other line was assuring but she just can't take it as a fact just yet.

"I want new information by the end of the week, okay?" Then she cut the line. It's better that way kaysa naman patuloy niyang masigawan ang kausap.

The search for Adrian is getting frustrating by the day. Did he intend to just disappear like that from her life? Ganun lang ba ang halaga niya dito? Tatlong taon din naman yun ng buhay nilang dalawa at kahit naman na hindi sila palaging nagkakasundo ay nagkaroon din naman siguro ng punto sa buhay nila na they genuinely cared for each other.

To take her mind off the topic and back to her reality ay lumabas muna siya ng bahay.

She's also avoiding Andrew since that night. Hindi alam kung paano pakikiharapan ang lalaki when deep inside something about how she sees him is bothering her.

Like his face, although similar, is very, very different?

As she stared at the fresh green leaves of the mango tree that was giving her shade ay may tumawag sa pangalan ni Andrew. She immediately sat up and looked for the voice calling Andrew out.

It was a middle aged woman peeking her head from the gate, hirap ito kasi medyo maliit lang ang ginang at medyo mataas ang gate at walang space para sumilip.

"Andrew!

Sa linya kasi ng trabaho niya, distrust is always sown between people.

"Naa ba si Andrew?" Inulit nanaman nito.

"Hindi po kasi ako marunong mag-Bisaya." She tried to look apologetic. "Tatawagin ko na lang po si Andrew. Saglit lang–"

"Auntie Cely, kamusta po?" And there he was a few inches away from her as she turned around, all bright and smiling like he always is.
