We panted down the alleyway before slowing to a stop. I looked around.

"Are we clear?" I asked.

"Yeah, looks like it," Jack said, and leaned on a wall as Vince messed with his hair. Guy took a water bottle out of his pocket and took a drink.

"I think we've hit a lucky strike," I took the bottle from Guy and took a drink, "I mean hey, it was only one, and we saved that girl."

I gave the bottle back to Guy. He put the bottle into his pocket. Shadows started forming together into multiple Cith. Vince got off the building.

"One big stroke of luck after another," He said, "I'm so happy I could cry."

"Shut up," I said, and they started coming after us.

We started running down the alley again. There was a screeching sound above us and we stopped when something shot down in front of us in black and then formed into a woman who we had come to know as Olivette. I got the Good Samaritan and she smirked, grinning slightly.

"What the hell do you want?" I asked, standing my ground.

"My king says he greatly appreciates your retaliations, but says to tell you there is no point in them." She said.

"Yeah well we'll see about that," Jack said, and she looked at him with a certain look.

"You're cute when you try to fight back the truth," She said, "But I fear for your sake that you're wrong." She looked back to us as a group, "So I come with his word," She thought then looked back to us, "Stop it."

"Just try and make us," Vince said, and she chuckled, going to shadows.

"You're cute," She formed beside him and we watched as she put a hand under his chin, "But not that cute." She shook her head and he growled. She hit his bottom lip closed and he frowned as she smiled, "I could only imagine what other dastardly things are going on in this pitiful world, so be on your way."

They all went to shadow and I put my blade down, letting it go to smoke. I covered my face.

"Damn," I huffed.

Vince put his pistols away. I looked to Guy and he had a certain face that I had come to know as his thinking face. I pat his shoulder and he snapped out of his gaze. I smiled at him and he smiled back.

"Let's get home," Jack said, and we looked at him, "She's a bitch, but she's right."

"Then let's get a case," I sighed, then flashed us to the cars.

We got in and drove back to the bunker. Jack got on the computer and Guy sat down with a paper and a pencil. I went to the kitchen to make a sandwich. I rubbed my forearm, then looked at it. It had been weeks and I still wasn't used to it being gone. When you have something like that attached to you for so long, you tend to start getting attached to it.

What the hell am I saying? There's no way I missing the Mark.

I looked down to my forearm and I was still rubbing it. I swallowed and then sighed. I hung my head, then rubbed my eyes.

Maybe there is something wrong with me. Even without it.

"Hey," Vince said, and I jumped slightly.

"Son of a bitch," I said, turning to him as he sat up on the island, "Don't do that."

"Did I scare you?"

"No, just startled me."

"What's up?" He asked as I started making the sandwich.
