I laid back on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I had just watched Dustin do to shadow hours before. The Cith had taken his body for god knows what. I couldn't believe that, he was gone. I had lost people before. Bobby, my parents, Jedicia, Ash, Chris, the list went on. This, this was different.

Maybe because we had no resolution between us before he had gone. Maybe because he felt like he had some kind of mission. Maybe because he was trying to save me. Maybe a lot of things. I couldn't figure out what it was.

"Cas?" Jack asked from the doorway of my room, "Can I come in?"

I just kept staring at the ceiling, trying to find some sort of answer.

He breathed out and came in, sitting on the bed beside me, "I know, that he was special to you. I'm sorry this happened, if there was any way I could have prevented it,"

"You wouldn't have done anything," I said, and he looked at me. I sighed, "Face it, Jack, this was going to play out this way either way we spinned it. Someone was going to die."

He nodded slightly as he looked to the floor. I closed my eyes, taking his hand in mine. I looked to him as he looked at me.

"Thank you,"

"You never have to thank me, Cas," He said, and I smirked slightly.

"Too late," I looked back to the ceiling and closed my eyes as I set my hand back on my stomach. I heard him scoff as he leaned over and kissed my forehead. I smiled slightly as I heard him leave.

I breathed out and shifted to my side, holding my hands under the pillow. I felt something off and opened my eyes. I saw the devil lying next to me, looking at me. I gasped and went back, falling off the bed. I got up quickly and looked on the bed in a panic.

There was no one there.

I breathed heavily and looked around, brushing my bangs out of my face. I huffed. Was I really that tired?

"Cas," Guy said, and I looked at him. He was standing in the door way with his hands by his sides, "I'm not going to let him get away with doing this to you."

I looked at him and breathed out, "Guy," I went to him and hugged him. He hugged me back, "It's okay." I put my hand to the back of his head as he put his face in my shoulder, "You don't have to do anything." I held him to me and he held me tighter. I closed my eyes and breathed out, "It's okay."

"Okay," He said, and I let go of him, putting him in front of me. I smiled slightly and he looked at me. He smiled slightly back and I pat his shoulder as I left the room.

I walked into the library and sat with Jack. I rubbed my eyes slightly.

"Anything on Vincent?" I asked, huffing slightly.

"Robby has nothing," Jack said, and I nodded.

"Alright," I rolled my shoulders back as I sat back.

"How's Guy doing?" He asked.

"He was saying how he'd get Dylan for what he did, but I told him no so." I put my hands up slightly and put them back down.

"Yeah," He said, "I guess."

There was silence.

"Maybe Vince isn't coming back." I spoke up, looking at the table.

"What?"

I shrugged slightly, "He always said he was better on his own, that he liked the freedom, or whatever."

"Cas," Jack said, then sighed, "Come on, what's gotten into you?"
