"I'll do it! I don't know if I can plug the hole or not but I'll do it!" The determination in Eren's voice made Asta smile and feel proud that he was friends with him. He even felt a little inspired.
Pixis placed both his hands on Eren's shoulder. "Well said. You're a real man." He stood up and walked to the edge of the tall wall they were situated on, calling down to the people below. "Calling all staff officers! We have a plan to put together!"
"Huh?! You can't be serious?" Armin said in shock. "It was just some half-baked plan I came up with on the spot. We're actually going through with it?!"
"That's what I thought too, but there's no point in doubting his decision." Eren mumbled, his face twisted in concentration. "Commander Pixis must be envisioning something that we can't yet see."
"Something we can't see?" Armin questioned with furrowed eyebrows.
Eren simply shook his head. "Plus, I think there's a bigger issue that needs to be addressed before we can carry out the plan and the commander is keenly aware of it."
Asta crossed his arms and tilted his head with pursed lips. "Which would be...?"
"That the Titans aren't the only enemy." Eren said and looked up, his eyes meeting with Asta's. The two stared at each other for a moment, neither of them breaking away.
It wasn't until Pixis came back with two other soldiers and spoke up did they finally look away from each other. Neither Armin or Mikasa took any notice of the action. "Time is of the essence. We're counting on you, young soldiers."

"Attention!" Pixis yelled so loud it seemed to vibrate through the crowed below. All the soldiers had gathered at the bottom on the wall and he was now addressing them with Eren by his side. "I will now explain to you the details of the Trost Recovery Operation! The objective of this operation is to seal the hole in the demolished gate."
Asta could hear all the mumbles from the scared people. He was standing a little behind Pixis and Eren with Mikasa and Armin.
"As for how we'll accomplish this, let me start by introducing this fellow!" Eren stepped forward with a hard expression. "This is Eren Jaeger, a member of the Cadets. He is the successful result of our top-secret Titan transformation experiments. He is able to fabricate a Titan's body and control it at will. In Titan form, he will lift that giant rock near the front gate, carry it to the wrecked gate, and seal the hole. As for you, you're to defend him from the other Titans while he carries the rock."
