"Mikasa! Move!" Asta screamed as he saw Eren's titan fist just about to strike her again. Just in time, he flew towards her and grabbed her, moving her out of harms way. There was a small cut on her cheek but other than that, she had no other injuries. "Wait, here!" He demanded before he was flying towards Eren, landing just in front of is face and staring into his eyes.
"Get away from him!" One of the soldiers yelled but he ignored them.
"What the hell has gotten into you?! Don't you recognise me?!" He screamed in the titan's face. "It's Asta, you dipshit! You're best friend! You have to seal the hole with that rock!"
He thought that maybe he was getting through to his friend but then his name was being screamed and telling him to move. He could hear the fist flying through the air and just in time, he moved out of the way, causing Eren to punch himself in the face, knocking himself out and causing steam to rise from the wounds.
Asta growled and landed back down next to Mikasa.
"What the hell? He's just a regular, dumb Titan!" Captain Ian snapped but Asta wasn't really listening to him, he was staring down at Titan Eren and wondering what went wrong. The plan may have had flaws but they never could have seen this coming.
"Captain Ian! Two Titans approaching from ahead. A 10 meter one and a 6 meter one. One 12 meter Titan is closing in from the rear."
"Ian! We have to withdraw! There's no way that kid's sealing the hole!"
"Agreed. We have no choice but to leave him here."
The three soldiers words entered both Mikasa and Asta's ears and they both turned around to stare at them with anger. They couldn't just leave him there unprotected.
It seemed Captain Ian didn't know what to do. "Hey! This is no time to hesitate! Make the call!" He was yelled at. "Ian! It isn't your fault! This whole mission was a long shot to begin with! We all understand! It was worth a shot, and we did the best that we could! So our teams are going back up the wall now!"
Feeling anger run through her veins, Mikasa went to attack the soldier who spoke but Captain Ian put his arm in front of her and blocked her. "Wait. Calm down, Ackerman... Rico Team, take out the 12 meter one to the rear! Mitabi Team and my team will deal with the two ahead!"
"What?!" Rico exclaimed with rage.
"I was the one put in charge! Do as you're ordered! We can't leave Yaeger defenceless. Change of plans! We're to defend Yaeger from the other Titans until we can recover him! He holds a precious chance for humanity. We can't abandon him just like that! Because unlike us, he can't be replaced."
