The day of the Japanese Ripper's Trial...

The courtroom was more like an auditorium. Miyu could already tell that this was going to be anything but a normal criminal trial.

Ayeka Shinso was the court lie detector and a member of the prosecution team.

Her husband Shigeo Shinso was standing in front of the table acting as the lead prosecutor for the case. Despite being a officer of the law he was also reversed in the judicial side of law.

Hayato was to be the main testimony of the case and was sitting beside Ayeka. His hand was gripping hers tightly when he saw that man being brought out in a wheelchair and handcuffed.

His hair was longer and unkept. He had a smug psychotic smirk on his face and Miyu saw Shigeo's lips curling into a snarl as he crinkled the papers within his hands. She saw Ayeka's hidden fury and Hayato's sudden apprehension as he gripped tighter onto Ayeka's hand to tell her to calm down. Miyu saw all of this from her aisle seat next to Yasuhiro and Kiyomi within the front row beside the police officers that had assisted Hayato and Ayeka in this psychopaths capture.

The families of those fifty-thousand victims were also present in the auditorium sized courtroom. Miyu turned to face the victims families. She could see the tension in their eyes over this psychopath and an equal expression of justice to be given where it was due. Her hands clenched into fists. They wanted closure as they rightly should have that said closure but...she doubted anyone present for this trial would ever be able to handle the brutality this man had so willingly committed.

She turned around and found herself staring straight into his cold dark eyes as he looked at her from over his shoulder when he was wheeled up to the defendant's table. He must have noticed her striking eye color because he suddenly started laughing loud enough for it to send chills down everyone's spines.

He stopped laughing and spoke with a dark sinister grin on his face.

"We meet at last...hello Nyx...I would greet you properly but sadly my hands are bound in chains. Regardless...it's truly a pleasure." He snarled over that final word as he stared her down with sunken eyes, hollow cheeks, and that sinister psychotic grin. His hair was unkept and longer, his beard was greying and reached to the bottom of his neck. His haggard sickly appearance only added to his crazed look of insanity.

Miyu felt her soul leaving her body over his malicious gaze, but she didn't show it. She stared him down. He had so much wrath in his eyes, that it was hard for Miyu to see him as a human being and not a monster.

Hayato heard every word that man said to Miyu and his black eyes instantly turned crimson as he stared at the man sitting in a wheelchair behind the defendant table.

Hayato snarled like a wild dog at the man and Miyu was suddenly overcome with arousal over that snarl and her cheeks turned pink over Hayato's protectiveness over her.

The man chuckled and smirked over Hayato's actions. This man was acting as if this was so amusing to him. "Hello Sherlock...don't get jealous I haven't forgotten about you. However..." his eyes shifted to Miyu. "I know it wasn't you that figured it out. No, it was all Nyx...wasn't it?"

Hayato's eyes narrowed as he clenched his teeth, "Your smart, figure it out."

"Ah I see it now, even Sherlock needs his partner." The man chuckled darkly and spoke. "It's strange though...she doesn't strike me as a Watson." His eyes glinted with a knowing look.

Hayato's eyes widened and he bit the inside of his cheek to keep his normally repressed vulgarity at bay.

The familiar looking judge took his seat. Hayato recognized him from Miyu's own trial. The judge gave a fake cough in order to break up the conversation.
