I fell into a deep sleep from there singing. It was like a lullaby. I wake up and I gasp so hard I pick my whole weight up and I fall back down on the bed.

"Honey are you okay? Nurse! Nurse!" I hear an unrecognizable voice yelling for help. The nurse comes in. I see her looking at the machines and back to me.

"Darling you're fine. You just need to breathe slowly. I am going to put this oxygen mask on you okay? It will help you breathe. Your brain is curing so it's affecting how your body functions." She places a mask that helps me breathe better. The nurse reassures the lady that called for help that it was just a side effect from the brain treating itself. The nurse leaves and the woman comes near me.

"Hi, sweetie. How do you feel?" She's holding my hand now.

"Who are you?" I ask her. She puts her hand on her mouth and begins to cry. I can see the stitches on her arm and remember that they said my mother just needed stitches.

"Mother?" I ask her to make sure I am correct. She sighs with relief.

"Yes, honey it's me your mother! You remember me?" She asks.

"No I don't but they said my mother was getting stitches and you have some."

She laughs, "Good guessing." There's a knock on the door. I look at the door and realize that the room is filled with "Get well soon" and "Happy Valentine's day" balloons, cards, and flowers.

"Hi Mrs. Atkinson is she awake?" I hear a familiar voice.

Yes Michael come see her." She stretches her arm and he takes it. She whispers to him something and begins to cry.

"I got to get some air. I'll be outside if you need me." She kisses my forehead and exits the room.

"Hi, Lisa. It's me, Michael." He sits on the bed and reaches for my hand but I move it away from his reach.

"Are you really my boyfriend?" I ask him. He laughs hysterically.

"What's so funny?" I ask.

He reaches for my hand again and I let him in this time. "I wish." He grins.

We stare at each other for a while. I can't help but smile.

"Hey," he hands me a present. "For you."

I open my present and I find a burgundy dress, with flower imprints, and mid-long sleeves.

"Wow, it's beautiful." I hold his hand tighter and all of a sudden my head starts hurting. I feel a big thump constantly banging on my head. A whole bunch of motion pictures goes through my mind. It's going too fast for me to identify the memory.

"Lisa? Lisa! Are you okay?!" He's still holding my hand. "Nurse! Please Anyone!" He lets go of my hand, runs out of the room.

I wake up from the blackout and I am relieved to be able to move, talk, hear, and see. I look all over the room and it's filled with different bouquets of flowers, the balloons of valentines are gone but new get well soon balloons are up. I look to my side and find a book with a note on it. It reads Good Morning sunshine. I am so sorry none of us are there with you now. We will visit you once we can. I know how much you liked to read so here you go. Enjoy! Love, Michael. I hear a knock on the door. "Come in," I say. The door opens and it's a girl.

"Hi Lisa, it's me, Amber." She comes to sit next to me.

"I came in earlier to see you but you were too sick to see. You work for my father at the library." She goes on how I met her and how she's dating my best friend.

"I'm sorry I don't remember any of this. I know everyone's expecting me to wake up one day and know who they are. But I don't. I didn't even know who my own mother was or who I even am." She sighs. "We know Lisa." She rubs my back. "And we're going to try every day to get your memories back until you recover. Okay?" She gives me a warm smile.

"Okay." I agree. "How long have I been here?" I ask her.

She thinks for a while. "Almost a month."

"What? I only remember waking up three times here."

"I know but you've been sleeping a lot. But don't be afraid the doctor said that was fine. You need to rest."
