"Hey, Jade?" Colby called from the bathroom. I sat up quickly, shaking the thoughts from my head," Yeah?" His face peaked out form behind the door," You busy tonight?" "No, why?" "Wanna go out?" The question stunned me. "I-uh. What?" "Do. You. Wanna. Go. Out?" he asked, emphasizing each word. "Like.. what do you mean?" I asked, was he asking me out? He better not be, this was so not in the rules. Colby came out of the bathroom and joined me on the bed," What are you talking about?" "What do you mean?" " I mean do you wanna go out?" "No, Colby! Like on a date or-?" He cocked his head," That's against our rules, Jade. You misunderstood me, I didn't mean it like that." I let out a breath I didn't realize I'd been holding. "Why?" he asked. "You catching feelings?" "Hell no!" A look of hurt flashed across his face. " I mean, no, I'm not. I was just making sure you weren't." He bit his lip and shook his head," So..anyway, you said you weren't busy tonight, right?" "I-Ugh." I mentally face palmed, I had a date with Jackson tonight. Shit. " I actually am, I just remembered. I'm sorry." "It's okay," he said, shrugging. "Are you coming back here tonight?" "I don't know, Colby. I'll make sure to text you okay?" "Okay, I'll drop you back off at your apartment." " You don't have to." He grinned," So you're gonna walk there?" "Huh?" " You don't have your car, Jade. I drove us here." "I was just going to call and Uber." He shook his head," Nope, I'm dropping you off, let's go."

"So, what do you have planned for tonight?" Colby asked on the way back to my apartment. Did I want to tell him about Jackson? This "relationship" obviously isn't going to last. On the other hand, I wasn't sure if I wanted it to end. "Just hanging out with Alexa." I lied. I'll break this off if Jackson and I actually start dating. I mean, we haven't even gone out yet, why am I reading this much into it. "That'll be good for you, I know you've missed her ever since she started her new job." "Yeah, I have." Alexa recently got a job at some designing company, bu she works nights. So, she's always sleeping during the day, causing us to not see each other as much. "Am I ever going to meet her?" I hesitated," I don't know if that's a good idea." "Why not?" he pressed. " Cause... she's going to think there's something going on between us." His hand grazed over my thigh, squeezing it, making me clench my legs together. He smirked, damn him, he knew exactly what he was doing. " Hate to break it to you, Jade, but there is something going on between us." I shot him a glare," You know what I mean, Brock."  He chuckled," We're here." I got out of his car, noticing that he was doing the same. " What are you doing?" "I'm walking you up." "No, you're not." He ignored me, walking in and going straight for the elevator. I rolled my eyes and followed him. "I'm not letting you into my apartment." I chided, sure of what he was trying to do. " I don't expect you to. I just wanted to walk you up." He replied softly. I felt my face heat up, what is going on? Why am I blushing, he didn't even say anything? I caught Colby intensely inspecting my expression, which made my face get even hotter.  He muttered something under his breath. "What?" I asked. His gaze jerked from mine quickly, his face flushing as well," Just talking to myself, it's nothing." We exited the elevator and made our way down to my door. I unlocked it and turned around," Thanks for dropping me off." He shrugged," You don't have to thank me, it's no big deal." I didn't know how to respond to that so I pressed my lips to his softly. He sucked in a sharp breath, pulling me against him. He bit down on my lip as he pulled away, drawing a moan from my lips. Colby's eyes lingered on mine, his blue meeting my emerald ones, and he let go of me," Bye, love." I rushed into my apartment, not wanting to see him walk away. My back met the door as I rested my head against it. Love? That was the second time he's called me that. But why? He was he wasn't catching feelings, so why the nickname? No, he couldn't be, he wouldn't lie to me. I shook Colby out of my mind and reached for my phone, dialing Jackson's phone number.
