✧・゚: *✧・゚:* LIFE *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

DELANEY OPENED THE DOOR TO THE HOUSE and walked in without knocking, not that she ever did, but today she was in the worst mood she had ever been in and she didn't feel like talking to anyone besides who she was here to see.

She climbed the stairs one at a time and barged into the room she had been in hundreds of times, ignoring Ryland and his appalled expression. He paused the movie on his tv and turned to glare at her.

"Delaney, what the fuck? What if I was jerking off—"

She again ignored his words and dropped her bag, shuffling towards the bed as she climbed in next to him and laid her head on his chest. He instantly stopped complaining and wrapped an arm around her with a small sigh.

"What's up, Kiddo?" He murmured into her hair, tightening his hold on her body before he pressed play. "I'm just sad," she shrugged, curling up next to him as he sighed and nodded in agreement.

Ryland had been Delaney's friend long enough to know that if she wanted to talk about something, she would talk. If she was silent, there was a reason for her being so and he tended not to pry.

"Kairi makes me so...mad..." she huffed under her breathe, throwing her phone towards the end of the bed. Ryland only laughed quietly and leaned over, kissing her forehead before turning his attention back towards the tv.

"You hungry?"

She nodded and he pulled out his own phone, arguing with her for a few minutes over what to get before he cursed and put in the order for taco bell with a glare. "I actually hate you," he groaned and she grinned, pulling her lip between her teeth.

"I love you, Ry. Like seriously, you're my bestfriend in the whole world," she told him earnestly before laying back down in the position they had been in moments ago.

They had only been watching the movie he'd put on for less than a half an hour when his phone rang and he groaned, lifting it up. At the sight of the name of the screen, he quickly declined the call and slammed the phone back down on the bed.

Delaney didn't look over but softly asked who it was, focused intently on the movie and what was happening.

"Nobody."

Seconds later, the phone rang again and Ryland let out a groan, snatching it back into his hands. He looked at the name again and rolled him eyes, swiping accept on the call to get it over with.

"What do you want, Kai? I'm busy," Ryland snapped, watching as Delaney's eyes remained on the screen but he could tell that her attention was now on the conversation that was unfolding.

"Are you with Delaney—"

"Tell him I don't want to talk to him unless he tells me who snitched," Delaney responded in boredom, meaning every word that she had said and Kairi knew that.

"Look, I'll call you later, Bro," Ryland muttered, moving to hang up the call but he froze as Kairi took a deep breathe. His fingers moved a second too slow and Kairi took advantage of the fact, blurting out the only thing that would make Delaney talk to him.

"It was Ryland—"

Ryland hung up the call almost immediately, freezing in his spot as he turned and watched as Delaney slowly sat upright. He couldn't see her face until she finally turned to look at him and by then, he almost wished that she hadn't.

"Laney—"

She was up and out from the covers inhumanely fast, snatching her bag before making a move towards the door. Ryland jumped up and leaped off the bed, slamming his body against the door just as her hand grabbed the handle. "Delaney—"

"Really, Ryland? What the hell do you have to say right now?" She snarled, jerking the door open but it closed again after Ryland slammed his body against it once more.

"I-I just wanted you to be happy, Lane. I knew he liked you too and I just wanted to speed along the process," Ryland stuttered and waited for her to say something.

The silence was bone crushing and Ryland wanted to curl up into a ball and die. If he had known that Kairi would run his mouth, he would've never taken the time to try and make them get together in the first place. In fact, he wished he could go back in time and change what he had done.

"It wasn't your place," Delaney finally broke, her voice was loud and raspy and Ryland knew she was trying not to cry infront of him.

"I know that! I really do—"

Delaney didn't let him finish and tried to push him away from the door, jerking away from him as he tried to grab her arm. "Delaney—"

"Ryland, I'm gonna tell you this once and once only. Move before I break your fucking arm," she snapped, throwing the door open when he finally stepped away.

He followed her down the hallway like a lost puppy, grabbing her again before she could make it down the first step. She swung around to glare at him, tears pooling in her eyes. Ryland felt like he was going to cry at the sight and tried to pull her closer to him.

Delaney ripped backwards and out of his grip, looking him up and down once before scoffing and descending the stairs. Again, Ryland followed, silent and afraid he was about to lose his bestfriend.

"Delaney—"

"Go fuck yourself, Ryland," she spat before slamming the front door and disappearing from the house.
