✧・゚: *✧・゚:* LIFE *:・゚✧*:・゚✧"JUST STAY WITH ME," RYLAND BEGGED and pulled Delaney back towards his body, groaning when she giggled and pulled away from him. She shook her head and grabbed one of her shirts from his closet, tossing it over her head before she grabbed her shoes and slipped them on.
"Dude, it's called a girls day for a reason. All I do is hangout with you, Nick and Chase like I need to be with my own kind for once," She argued, turning towards the door as he groaned even louder and pulled her back towards him yet again.
"Patrick even got you white claws! You're gonna skip out on a pool day to hangout with girls?" He asked like she was insane, cocking his head to the side as Delaney nodded and mimicked his movements.
"Patrick got himself white claws."
"But you know he'd let you have some! Just tell Kouvr and Mia to have their own day without you—" He stopped talking at the sound of Delaney's name being called from downstairs, clearly knowing that there was no way he was going to convince her to stay with him.
Delaney gave him a triumphant smile and leaned up to kiss him before she bounded towards the door, stopping for a second to wave goodbye and then she was gone.
He sighed in defeat when he heard the front door close and stomped down the stairs himself, throwing open the back door as he made his way towards the pool. He had never once in his life felt so attached to a girl that he couldn't bear to be without her for more than an hour and it only made him want her back even more.
"Why do you look so depressed," Patrick slurred, throwing him a can that Ryland caught with ease. He cracked it open and chugged, tossing it to the side when he was done as he held up his hand for another one.
The blonde boy grinned and did exactly that, watching in drunken awe as his friend chugged it with equal speed and then burped loudly, doubling over as the alcohol hit his stomach unpleasantly fast.
"He's mad cause Delaney went to get food and didn't wanna hang out with him," Nick answered, smiling proudly when Ryland shot him a glare that only proved that he was right.
Instead of arguing that he was wrong, Ryland sprinted towards him and laughed when Nick shrieked, jumping into the pool as an effort to escape. His friend only dove in after him, splashing water as he laughed from the other side.
"I'm not mad—"
"Dude you're totally mad," Alex taunted from his spot on the edge, laughing like everyone else when Ryland flipped up the middle finger and glared at him.
"Bruh — it was your stupid girlfriend that begged her to go," Ryland snapped, crossing his arms in defense as everyone just stared at him like he was crazy. He knew that they all thought he was but he didn't care, he just lived Delaney and he loved being around her more than anyone else.
"Pussy whipped," Thomas coughed into his arm, yelping when a basketball went flying towards his face. He coughed the words again and scrambled towards the stairs when Ryland came after him.
The two of them raced around the pool, the cheers of their friends egging them on until Ryland finally tackled the much bigger boy into the water, punching his back angrily before he crossed his arms yet again.
"They haven't even fucked—"
"Dude shut the fuck up," Ryland snapped towards Nick, groaning when everyone around him let their mouths drop in shock. He knew that everyone has already assumed that they had due to the fact that she was with him every night but they hadn't and he didn't even want to.
"This girl is in your bed everyday and you haven't even had sex with her?" Alex asked, his voice was high with disbelief and Ryland nodded, his face flushing at the fact that everyone now knew that he was really as in love with her as everyone said.
"She's been in two relationships and got cheated on twice. I'm just trying to make her happy and I don't wanna pressure her into anything," Ryland quickly defended himself, sinking down into the water so that only his head was above.
There was a moment of silence and then Thomas nodded, smacking Ryland on the shoulder with a smile. "That's respect, Brother. You're doing good."
"He's only doing good because I got rid of Kairi for him," Nick scoffed and pulled himself out of the pool, sitting on the ledge as he grabbed his phone. He was too focused to notice everyone staring at him, his eyes narrowing when he finally caught on.
Ryland was the first to make a move, jumping out of the pool as he stood over his friends body with a frown. "What do you mean 'Got rid of Kairi?'" He asked softly, his stomach beginning to turn as Nick rolled his eyes and stood up to meet his eyes.
"Kairi called her that night she was all drunk — texted her too. He called again that morning when I was grabbing a hoodie from your closet so I answered and I told him to leave you guys alone and then I deleted the calls and texts from her phone," he confessed, clearly not phased by the look on his bestfriends face.
Ryland felt his stomach drop and he stared at Nick in shock, unable to process anything to say to him. He hadn't pieced together how it was weird that Kairi had never called her because he was so wrapped around the idea of being with Delaney. Now it was all a lie.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Ryland stumbled backwards away from him, his mind racing due to the sole fact that he now had to tell Delaney all of this before she found out on her own. He wasn't willing to lie to her again, not after the last time.
"I helped you, Bro," Nick defended himself and looked around to find some support from his friends, his face dropping when they all held the same expression that Ryland displayed.
Instead of saying another word, Ryland just walked past him, bumping his shoulder roughly on the way and disappeared into the house to prepare to ruin everything that had made him the happiest.
