✧・゚: *✧・゚:* LIFE *:・゚✧*:・゚✧TO KICK OFF THEIR LAST NIGHT, MATTIA had dragged the group of 'friends' to one final party. He knew that nobody wanted to go, especially with the fact that Delaney and Ryland had still yet to speak a word to each other, but he also knew that if anything were to go down, he wanted to be there to mediate it.
So there they were, sat around a table in the backyard of some house, no words spoken. Mattia watched as Delaney chugged her fourth cup of the night, shifting uncomfortably as Kairi leaned over to kiss her cheek.
They made brief eye contact and he sighed as she excused herself, disappearing for a few moments before she returned with another full cup. She reclaimed her seat next to Kairi and rolled her eyes as he grinned at Ryland.
"Leave him alone," she snapped so that only he could hear, turning away before she could see the look of confusion take place of the childish triumph. He knew that she was upset about the whole Ryland thing but hadn't known that it was to the extent it actually was.
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Sebastien bounded over to them with a grin, slamming his cup down on the table. Delaney looked behind him and scoffed at the sight of Celia and Alejandro, abruptly standing and moving over to Mattia's side.
Mattia sighed and gently pulled her against himself as softly told her that nothing that was about to go down was worth her time, frowning when she mumbled, "Whatever," and sipped at her drink.
She watched Celia's every move, scoffing again when she took the empty seat on Kairi's left and Sebastien sat to his right, beaming at Ryland.
"Surprised you came back out," He taunted, desperately trying to provoke some sort of reaction from the boy. Ryland opened his mouth to retaliate but caught Delaney's eye and instantly diverted his own to the floor, not wanting to anger her anymore than he already had.
Sebastien then turned his attention to Delaney, a different expression taking over his features. "Hey Lane," he greeted, frowning when she didn't respond.
Kairi was trying desperately to catch her eye with no luck. He wanted to grab her and leave this party but he was stuck waiting for whatever was about to happen, caught in something he hadn't even wanted to be involved in.
"Let's play truth or dare," Celia finally joined in on the conversation, smiling at the only other girl in the group. Delaney faked a smile back and lifted her cup, "Might as well, right, Kai?"
The boy jumped at the sound of his name and nodded with uncertainty, turning to Celia as she smiled with glee.
"Okay, um — Mattia, truth or dare?" She asked, pouting when he gave her a dirty look before answering, "Dare."
At Celia's request, Mattia downed the rest of his cup and screwed up his face at the taste, shaking his head to get rid of the burn. He then turned to Sebastien and repeated the question, yawning when he picked dare as well.
"I dare you to call the hottest girl in your contacts," he said boredly, leaning back in his seat as Sebastien picked up his phone. He held it to his ear and waited, widening his eyes in feign shock when Delaney's phone began to vibrate from the table.
