*EDITED*
Chioma was in a rush to get home. She had promised her mother, that she'd be back on time - to meet the guests which she was informed by her parents, would be coming later during the evenings. It was already 3:45pm and she was still trying to make it out of the restaurant where she came to spend some time with her friend, Amanda.
"Where's the stupid phone when you need it?" She grumbled as she dug into her purse in search of her phone.
"Dad, I promise I'll be there. I just need to—"
Chioma's purse came falling down to the ground. This made her really upset, for she was already pissed. The culprit - whom had bumped into her - bent down immediately to help her with her purse. She didn't bother saying anything but just stood there and watched him pick up her stuff.
"Can't you watch where you're going? If you'd like to answer a phone call then at least do it with your eyes fixed on where you are going!" Chioma yelled at him. He finally got up and handed over her fallen items, now inside her purse.
"I'm extremely sorry. It's my mistake" he replied, pleadingly.
"Of course it was your mistake!" Chioma replied rudely as she snatched her purse away from his hands and was about to very angrily storm off.
"It's Femi by the way" he added and she spun around, like the speed of light and met with his gaze. She stared daggers and knives at him.
"I don't remember asking for your name though...but nice name. Have a nice life" she added and eyed him before turning her back on him and walking away.
Femi chuckled silently and shook his head.
Normally when you tell someone you've just met your name, they're supposed to tell you theirs. But instead she replied that way and walked away without even saying her name.He watched her get into the black Honda Accord Jeep, with the two escorts shutting the door for her.
She must be one of those ill-mannered daughter of some rich politician or business man. No wonder she's so rude.
Femi thought, as he finally walked into the restaurant. Indeed, that girl was something else. She was pretty quite alright but she was such a spoilt brat and a sassy person and those were the kind of people he hated to interact with. They always think too highly of themselves.

"Mom so who exactly are they? I mean, those people coming over that you told me about" Chioma said to her mom who was busy giving orders to the servants.
"Don't you have common sense? My friend put that thing away! Nonsense!" Mrs Aniobi yelled at one of the servants. "Ehen, my dear, the man is your father's friend and a very wealthy senator too. His son just returned from the US and he decided to come pay us a little visit" Mrs. Aniobi explained to her and her eyes went through a merry-go-round.
"Then why do I have to be there? They can come over and pay dad a visit and leave. Why must I be there?" Chioma asked, letting out a hiss.
"Because your father said so" Mrs. Aniobi replied. "Let me go and finish up. Call Amara down here. That girl is becoming too lazy for my liking" Mrs. Aniobi said.
"Sure" Chioma replied and headed upstairs to her room to call her sister.
I don't still understand why I have to be there. What will I be doing there other than to sit there and greet the man? Dad just wants to irritate me...
Chioma thought, with yet another hiss. She didn't want to be there and she didn't like the fact that she had to cancel the get-together with her friend, just to say hello to someone she doesn't even know or care to know about. She hissed once more, and finally went into Amara's room to call her.

"Dad, I'm on my way. I'll be there shortly" Femi said to his father, over the phone. He was on his way home and wondered what was so important that his father had to make him rush home.
"Okay, son. Hurry up then. I'll be waiting for you to get back" his father added.
"But dad, what's so important that you had to make me rush? I mean, it's just a visit. Not like we are going for an important occasion or function. I don't see the reason for the hurry" Femi said, still focusing his gaze on the road with the phone on speaker phone.
"I'll explain when you get back. Just be here on time" his dad added.
"Sure, dad" he replied and hung up.
He didn't like the fact that he was rushed to just visit one of his father's many friends. What was the need for him to be there? Why does he actually have to be there? Usually, his dad would visit his friend(s) without him being there. Now, why did he necessarily have to be present? Did someone give birth? Or is someone getting married? That, he did not know. But he was certain that this was not how he planned to enjoy his day. He planned on chilling with some friends and then meeting up with his girlfriend and not all this nonsense.
He hissed as he thought of it and drove faster.
"This better be good" he said to himself as he drove off.

Ohk, this chapter wasn't quite long and probably was boring but I'm still working on this book. The next chapter will be longer and will be really interesting. I might even decide to leave it in a cliffhanger.
Anyway, the cover up👆 is just a sample of the many covers which I made for this book. The current one is my favorite but tell me what you think about the one up👆, in the comment section. I really need your comments and your votes, they help me know what to write next and they help me identify my errors 😟. Please help me by voting and commenting, I really need it.
