Chioma's POV.
I walked into the house, seething with rage. After the whole office drama, Amanda finally handed me the documents and asked that I give her the deets on all that went down while I was in Femi's office. Also, she was so surprised when she found out that the Femi I have been ranting about was in fact her boss. Well, enough of the idiot.
Walking into the air conditioned living room, I met dad sitting on the couch and watching a football match. I tried sounding polite when handing him the papers but failed miserably.
"Hey Dad, here are the stupid documents you wanted" I said as I placed them on the centre table. I wanted to fling them on the table but decided against it cause I might end up ripping some pages out.
"Stupid?" He asked, with surprise evident in his voice. "Chioma, are you okay?" He asked as he lowered the volume of the TV and stared at me with an inquisitive brow raised.
"You have no idea what those documents made me go through" I said as I headed for the stairs. "I'll be in my room, dad" I added before taking the stairs.
"Chioma, get back here this instant!" He demanded, his voice demanding authority and compliance (that which I failed to give). I heaved a very frustrated sigh and turned to look at him from the staircase where I stood.
"Dad, I am extremely angry and too tired to talk. I can't deal with your scoldings right now. We'll talk later" I replied as I walked up the stairs with the intention of not coming back down.
"Chioma! Chioma!! I said get back here!" He demanded but I didn't listen.
"Amara!" I heard him yell instead as I walked into my bedroom and slammed the door shut.
My phone made a ding sound as I plopped on my bed, lying on my back and staring at the ceiling. I grabbed my phone and saw a text from Amanda.
Amanda: girl, I'm itching to know wassup. As in, what exactly happened in that office? You looked like you could've murder someone.
I ran my hand through my blonde and long box braids. I didn't want to talk about this, I wasn't in the mood to talk about it at all.
Me: we'll talk about this later, 'kay?
I'm too upset to talk about it rn.In a few seconds, she replied.
Amanda: okay at least just listen to my rants. First, you didn't tell me that my BOSS was the FEMI you've been talking about!!!
Second: you didn't tell me you hated my BOSS!!! I know I just said the same thing in two different ways but I'm sure you know what I mean.I chuckled at her reply. I didn't want to ignore her and so I decided to reply her.
Me: I never knew he was the same person.
Amanda: Liar Musa! You knew!
Me: I didn't, honestly.
Amanda: okay oh, so are you ready to tell me what truly happened in that office? Did you guys like...fight??
I rolled my eyes. We always fight, it's a must cause he's such an oversized jerk!
