Chioma's POV.
I stepped out of the bathroom with my towel wrapped around my slim figure. I can't believe I'm actually going out with Femi! Why on Earth is the universe letting this happen?! I can't seem to escape this.
I decided that I won't put in effort in looking my best so he doesn't think I'm getting all dressed up for him, to try to impress him. Heck no! I just selected a simple pink dinner gown with an off-shoulders design and a flay finish. It was looking simple but not quite. It's really expensive though and yet so nice and simple. I chose this cause, this wasn't even a proper date. I was forced into going out with Femi. If I had my way, I'd object a thousand times.
I finally put on my dress and my silver wedges. I packed my braids up in a tight bun and applied some makeup, but light makeup though. Once I was done with that, I stared at myself in my full-length mirror. I was looking nice but yet simple. Heaven knows that I'd never dress like this for a proper date. Especially if it is with someone I really like. But unfortunately, it's just Femi. No big deal.
I was about putting on my necklace and earrings when I heard my phone ringing in my silver purse, the one I was taking with me. I immediately knew that Femi was already here. So I didn't bother picking up until I was done putting on my jewelry and then adding some finishing touches. By the time I was done, I grabbed my phone to see seven missed calls from Femi. I sighed and shoved my phone into my purse. I wasn't going to call him back, after all, I'm done preparing so I'll just meet him outside.
"So this is what you went with?" Mom asked as I got downstairs. I didn't reply her, I just greeted her and left. I was in no mood for her to give me outdated fashion advice. Oh puh-leese!
"Took you long enough" he said as I got to his car. I won't lie, his car was actually nice. But I won't say that out loud, not even to save my head of course.
"So that's what you'd like to say to me? Anyway, it's not like I was even expecting you to be charming. Annoying as always" I said as I eyed him, to spell out the words: " I don't like you".
"Jeez! I'm sorry, okay?" He smirked. "You look amazing. Simple but beautiful, just the way I like it" he said and I shot him a glare.
So he likes it?
Why do I even care?" Whatever," I muttered. "Won't you open the door for me?" I replied sharply, giving him the stink eye.
"Um, didn't you say you weren't expecting me to be charming? And that this isn't supposed to be romantic, if I open the door for you, wouldn't that go against all you've said to me today?" He said, with a smirk on his face. He was really looking...good. I hate to say it, but it's true. He was putting on a black Gucci t-shirt and black jeans. He also wore a simple gold chain and a nice pair of white sneakers. And he also wore a white Gucci face cap. And with that smirk on, he was looking...I won't say it!
"Are you done checking me out?" He asked and I immediately felt embarrassed.
"I wasn't even checking you out, you moron!" I said, opening the car door and getting in.
"Suit yourself then, but I guess you have a thing for morons. Since you were obviously checking me out" he said, his smirk still on his face, as he got into the car too. He didn't come with any escorts or something. He came alone, and to think he's the son of a very rich senator like Senator Tobi Omashola. He acts like his father isn't so rich.
