*EDITED*

Chioma stood next to Femi, both getting swallowed by the silence that hovered above them both - engulfing them into it's uncomfortable hands.

Femi felt awkward, as to the fact that none of them were saying anything. Finally, he decided to say something, to lighten the weirdness between them.

"So... I believe we started off on the wrong foot, at the restaurant, so I think we should try again. My name is Femi and I'm really sorry for bumping into you" he said and Chioma only looked like her patience was running thin.

She didn't want to be here, talking to him. She didn't have any interest in the conversation he was trying to start up, and she also didn't want to share anything with him. She'd rather be in her room, than to discuss anything with him. For goodness'sake! She never asked for any of this. She just got back a few weeks ago, and the last thing she wanted was to be disturbed by this... Weird discussion. And she felt a cauldron of emotions stir up inside her. The tension was evident, the awkwardness was nauseating to her, and his presence was basically irritating her. She wanted to leave!

"And I'm Chioma. Are we done now? 'Cause if you don't mind I'd like to get back inside. I think we've already gotten to know each other better, don't you think?" She asked, giving him one of her many fake smiles.

"Well, you don't have to be so rude about it," he added, not liking her tone. "And I think you actually owe me an apology" he added and Chioma shot him a look.

"For what exactly?" She asked, whilst folding her arms.

"For being rude to me at the restaurant and for your behavior right now. You're literally doing the exact same thing you did at the restaurant. What's your problem?" he replied and she scoffed.

"And why would I do that?" She scoffed again. "And if you must know, my problem; is that I'm sick of your presence and feeling suffocated by this meeting. I'm sure you are too, so just drop the act" she added, her lips stretching into a thin line, as she stared into the distance ahead.

"Because you were wrong, Chioma. I don't want this meeting too 'cause I have someone I like. But what's wrong with at least being nice to me? Just so we could be friends? What's wrong with that? Why so serious all the time? Jeez!" he replied and she quirked a brow at him and let out a laughter - one devoid of humor and rather sarcastic.

"Hmm, well I don't think so. You are the one who's clearly wrong here. Trying to get me to apologise when I clearly did nothing wrong" she defended and Femi looked at her like he didn't hear her properly.

Just a while ago he actually thought this girl actually had some manners. Those thoughts just flushed out of his head, now she has proved to him that she has absolutely no manners whatsoever. He stared at her, a frown marring his face and a hint of wonder in his eyes, shimmering under the intense gaze, and the sharp glares she threw his way.

"You know what? Fine, I think I'm done talking to you" he said and started walking into the house.

She gritted her teeth in anger, sizing his back view with her eyes. Seething with rage, she approached him and pulled him by his arm and glared murderously at him.

"And I'm done wasting my precious time on you! You're not going to walk out on me like that, if anyone's leaving first, then it's me. Idiot!" She yelled, spitting out rage with a poisonous glare heading his way - boring holes into his head. Unfortunately, everyone inside heard what she had said too.

She walked into the house, trying so hard to keep her pissed state a secret. It was too late trying to do that, for they'd heard what she said to Femi; and we're wondering why she said that to him. She tried putting on yet another fake smile, but was met with the questioning glances and looks thrown her way by both families. She chose to ignore them and sat beside her mother on the couch, making sure she didn't make any form of eye contact with Femi.
