Femi's POV.
I got the clothes for Chioma and was about heading home when my conscience began to prick me concerning Kunmi. I was worried about her and as a true friend, it won't be nice of me to go home and act like nothing happened. And so I decided to see her before heading home.
On arriving at her place, I parked my car at the parking lot and got down. I walked towards the entrance and knocked softly and after a few more minutes of knocking, the door finally came open revealing one of their maids who smiled at me.
"Welcome sir" she said and I nodded in response, also returning the smile.
"Um, I'm here to see Kunmi. Please let her know that I'm here" I said to her and she nodded in understanding.
"Sure, I will. Please come in" she said once more, putting a small smile in her face and stepping aside to let me in.
"Thank you" I replied as I walked into the well furnished and air-conditioned living room. The walls were all covered in exquisite yet artistic abstracts in blue and black and a glass, round centre table which sat in the middle of the living room. With off-white colored plush couches and and black abstract patterned cushions. A big, bright chandelier hung on the ceiling, brightening up the entire living room in a tender white glow. The black tiles and the TV set both complimented each other with the portraits of the family members which hung on the walls, bringing life into the room.
I sat down on the couch, waiting patiently for Kunmi to arrive. It took a few minutes before the maid returned and I immediately let out a sigh of relief.
"Sir, she...she said she's busy. And that you should come back tomorrow" the maid said, her head bowed low.
Of course I'm not taking no for an answer. I came all the way here to see her and that's what I'll do, whether she likes it or not.
"Her parents? Where are they?" I asked.
"In their bedroom but only her mother is around right now, sir hasn't returned yet and Dante left with his friends an hour ago" she replied and I ran a hand through my hair and let out a sigh once more.
"Mind if I meet her upstairs?" I blurted and she shook her head vehemently.
"Sir, please don't go up. She asked that you leave, I might get into trouble if you do" she replied.
"Don't worry nau. Trust me, I'll handle her. You know how she is, she doesn't stay angry for too long. Just let me see her, please?" I replied, hoping she'd agree. She looked like she was thinking about it and finally nodded her head affirmatively.
"Thank you" and with that, I raced upstairs to her room. Getting to her bedroom door, I knocked gently and awaited her reply.
"Who's that?" She asked yet I refused to respond, knowing that she'd refuse to open the door if she knew I was the one knocking.
"I said who's that?" She asked once more yet I didn't reply. I knocked once more and I could hear her hiss from inside and the clinking of her crutches was heard from inside as she approached the door.
"Don't you have a name?!" She screamed, her voice a bit closer than before which only meant that she was about to open the door.
