Femi's POV.

Kunmi's right hand left her crutches and before we knew what was going on, she slapped Chioma. Really hard. The sound alone was enough to scare us all.

Who knew she could slap like that?

"Now put yourself together and have sense or I'll choke sense into you!" She warned as she glared at Chioma, a disgusted look on her face. Chioma was beyond shocked, her mouth hung open as she placed a hand on her left cheek which got slapped. "Do you actually think that killing yourself will solve the problem at hand? Are you seriously that daft?! What exactly would even make you even think about doing this? Like, are you mad or something?!" Kunmi yelled at her once more while Damola placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

"Please do us all a favor and calm down. You're a rich girl, you have all you want so there's nothing that should make you want to do this. I mean, if na like that na, everybody for don dey die anyhow. We might not like you but that doesn't mean we want you dead, and by we, I mean Femi and I. This bonehead by my side has no idea who you are" she said referring to Damola who raised an inquisitive brow at her.

"You see me standing here, don't you?" He asked her, but Kunmi completely ignored him.

At this point, Chioma burst into tears. I was so surprised to see her cry cause this was actually the first time I've ever seen her cry.

"What's this? You're crying?" Kunmi asked, eyeing her from head to toe. I've always known Kunmi to be a tough person. She's not really an emotional person and she definitely can't handle tears.

"Femi, handle this girl. I can't talk to her while she's crying cause I don't do tears, at all" she said to me. " I'll be in the car" and with that, she turned to leave, with Damola following behind her. But not before placing a firm hand on my shoulder and giving me an encouraging nod.

Once they were both gone, I turned to look at Chioma who had her back turned towards me as she cried, more like sobbed.

"Look," I said, putting a firm hand on her right shoulder which she eventually shrugged off.

"Leave me alone, just go" her words came out as whispers and they heavied my heart. I felt so guilty, I shouldn't have said those mean things to her at all. I should've ignored her words as usual. Maybe it's truly my fault. And right now, I don't even know what to say to her.

Slowly, she continued to cry. And as she did, I became so confused. I had no idea what to say to her, to at least calm her down.

I sighed, and then stood beside her, next to the railings. And for a while, I said nothing and neither did she. I watched as the birds chirped and the waters moved to the shores and crashed into one another. The sound was so relaxing. But added to the honks blared by nearby vehicles and noises from various passersby, it was hard to term the environment as peaceful.

"Chioma, I'm really really really sorry. If there was a word bigger and greater than the word 'sorry'  then I'd say it to you. I seriously don't understand what exactly happened to you, but since you feel I'm at fault for it, then I sincerely apologise" I didn't say anything for a while and watched her wipe the tears off her face. She stared at the view before her and watched as the waters clashed and created waves. The weather wasn't all that bright, in fact it was cloudy. But it didn't look like it'd rain anytime soon.
