A/N: hey guys, before we get to the chapter. I'd just like to thank all my readers for sticking with this book, it means a lot.

Chioma's POV.My eyes twitched and I could see my mother showing off her thirty-two pearly whites which only irked me the more.
"What are you doing here?" I asked choosing to say that instead of my previous choice of words which I had in mind and was; "get out of my house!"
"I came here to see you, isn't it obvious?" He said, showing off his very annoying smile that _ I hate to admit _ was quite contagious...even saying it annoys me.
"Why? We aren't friends!" I said, raising my voice a little too much.
"Don't say that now," mom scolded and I scowled inwardly. "Is this how you welcome a guest?" She turned to Femi, who was still standing there with the bouquet in his hands, and apologised on my behalf.
What is he trying to do? Why would he come here?!
"Don't mind Chioma, she just has a headache and she's quite pissed" mom said to him, much to my annoyance.
"mom!"I shrieked and I regretted it immediately, cause it only made my head ache the more. I cussed which was quite usual, "I'm going upstairs!" I yelled and I still regretted doing it the second the drums in my head got louder.
"Chioma, will you get back here!" Mom demanded.
"But why, mom?" I whined, not wanting to yell. " We are not friends and besides, I have a really bad headache" I said.
"At least come and find out why he's here," she turned to Femi who had a smirk on his face now. "You won't spend too much time, will you?" She asked him and he smiled. "I won't" he said and I rolled my eyes in anger mixed with frustration.
"You see? Come and talk to him now, or do you want me to get your father? Remember he's your father's friend's son?" Mom said, and at the mention of my father I knew he wouldn't be happy to hear that I was being disrespectful to a guest. His friend's son for that matter...and so I had to agree. I walked towards mom and groaned when she winked at me and left. God! That woman is so annoying sometimes!
"Let's start over," I said, wearing a sickly sweet smile on my face. "Welcome, what brings you here?" I said and I could hear him chuckle. I so wanted to slap that smirk off his face.
"That's much better," he smirked again and my eyes twitched. "I'm here because I want to thank you" he said. Luckily I had a headache, else I would have yelled at him.
"For what?" I asked, trying to calm down.
"For filing a report at the police station on my friend's behalf" he said with his contagious smile back on _ I think that smile is some kind of witchcraft _ cause I could feel a smile tugging at the corners of lips.
"What are you talking about?" I said, after mentally giving myself a slap for wanting to smile at him.
"You know? The girl that was attacked is my friend, her name is Kunmi. So I'm here to thank you for filing a report on her behalf. I didn't know you had it in you" he smirked and my eyes twitched for the umpteenth time today. I so wanted to slap that smirk off his face.
"What do you mean by you didn't know I had it in me?" I said, glaring at him. I'm sure he was enjoying this. He knew I couldn't walk out on him cause, unfortunately, my father is at home today.
"Never mind that. I got these for you, as a thank you gift" he said, handing me the bouquet. I stared at it and scowled, the flowers were infact pretty but the person handing them over to me was quite annoying. I had to take it from him, grudgingly though.
"This is where you say 'thank you', for the bouquet" he said and I glared at him.
"You can leave now. You are done with what you came here for" I said slyly.
"No I'm not. I'm here cause I want you to go out with me today. But since you have a headache, I'll leave it till tonight" he said and I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists in annoyance. He was making my headache worse just by the sight of him.
"No, I will not go out with you. I'd rather go out with an alarm clock than to have myself go out with you. No, thanks" I glared and turned around to leave, but then he pulled me back by my wrist, although gently.
"Why?" He asked, his smirk still on his face. I pulled my hand away from his grip and placed the bouquet on the side table next to me.
"Because I don't like you" I stated bluntly.
"Ouch! Why so harsh? Girls would kill to go out with me and here you are turning me down" he said, feigning hurt. Now, it was my time to smirk.
"Well, I'm not like other girls. I'm different and my tastes are too. Those other girls that fell for you are probably morons or are just too stupid to tell the difference between charming and irritating" I said and I noticed his eyes widened a bit, but then he regained composure. My smirk was still on my face of course.
"Girl, what have I done to you that's making you hate me so much? Gosh! You're so confusing" he let out a frustrated sigh and I smirked even more.
"Then leave cause I'm not going out with you" I said and was about leaving when he pulled me by arm this time.
"Leave and I'll tell your father that you are disrespecting a guest. And that you have been so rude to me since the day we first met till now" he warned and I glared at him.
"Are you threatening me?" I glared even more, pulling my arm away from his grip.
"Call it whatever you like" he said and my smirk left my face.
"Well, I love threats. And this one doesn't really bother me, go ahead and tell my father. You're just a coward cause you can't even get me to go out with you willingly. Pathetic!" I said, before turning my back on him. "The door's that way, in case you're blind and can't see it" I said, pointing to the door at the far end of the living room. My smirk returned as I walked to the stairs and headed to my bedroom, not even sparing him a second glance.
That will teach him to know his limits.
"What did you do?"...
