3| You're from a whole other world

Their voices echoed in my ears, "Carmen, Sweetheart. Time to go to heaven or hell." They teased,

I fell on my knees. Within a few seconds, the man pulled out the dagger from my back. Blood started to drain out of my mouth. I groaned, my body collided with the wet ground. 'The pain had started to engulf me.' My blood began to form a pool around me.

Everything started to get blurry. Someone was swirling around me, slowly acquiring pleasure from my pain. “You were such a pain in my master's behind.” A man said as I shivered, “And you know what's funny, the man you killed there, was a pain in my behind, so I will go easy on you. You won't have to suffer anymore.”

I glanced upwards towards the sky welcoming the drop of water. Death has to come one day, I knew that very well but the thing that made me unhappy was that I never got a chance to say goodbye to the people I cherished the most.

He placed a hand on my arm and shoved the dagger once again, this time, he aimed at my abdomen. Tears started to roll down my cheeks. I grunted in pain one last time, I trembled on the ground, my body starting to paralyze and my eyes being unable to fight anymore, fastened themselves forever.

"That's enough, The bitch is dead."

"But she is still breathing."

"Barely."

"But--"

"Shut your mouth, Xai. You do know we need her, and now that she is dying we have to hurry up so do as I say."

I felt one of them carrying me. I wonder, what they are going to do with me. I heard someone say, "Go ahead."

The man who carried me made me stand on my feet and clasped my arm. The last thing I heard was.

"Rest in peace."

Someone pushed me and in the next few seconds, I felt the strong gush of air revolving around me, which made me realize that I was pushed off a cliff.

I closed my eyes and waited till I hit the ground but suddenly I felt something wet.

They dropped my body in the River

Isn't the world so beautiful but I am afraid I never got to explore most of it.

"Abrianna! Abrianna!"

I opened my eyes and swam upwards. Placing both my hands over the wet tiles, lifting my body off the water. I laid down near the pool gasping. My chest rose and fall, I closed my eyes.

'What the fucking hell just happened?'

"What the fuck were you doing?"
Jamie, my swimming coach admonished folding her arms over her chest. I opened my eyes turning my head towards her. Her eyes were locked at me with a horrifying glare. I sat up, with a small smile on my face, I always enjoyed the hilarity of her anger. "What's funny, Ray?"

"Your face," I muttered.

"What was that?" She looked at me as if I was insane. “You think killing yourself is funny."

I turned towards the pool and dipped my legs in the water, keeping my back towards her.

'No my life is, '

"I don't know, I fell asleep.", I answered in a low voice. "And that's a bit funny deeming my choice of taking a nap."

"You what?" I turned to see her, She stared at me in disbelief. I don't want her to trust me either, "You were drowning yourself to death. Do you have any idea, what you have done?" She raised her eyebrows. I looked away from her and glanced straight towards Mai, who knew it was no exception that I fell asleep. “You could have died.”

“I know, I am sorry. I won't repeat it.” I muttered.

"Why don't you sleep then? Answer me."

"Okay, I said I was sorry. I have insomnia. You can't blame me for that."

"Are you sure, you and Mai weren't playing who could stay underwater longer?"

"No, Jamie. We were not."

She walked away eyeing me. I didn't know what the fuck happened to me down there. I have these nightmares or visions of someone's life. These visions freak the hell out of me and all I want is for them to stop.

"You okay?", Mai asked taking her seat beside me. I nodded, "You should take pills. At least you can sleep."

I ignored her and asked getting to my feet, "How long was I down there?" I gaze at the drop of the water, that transported from my body to the ground.

“I don't know 30 minutes or more." She stood up running a hand through her black hair, I turned to face her.

“I am telling the truth.” She answered adjusting her green dress.

“You are joking, right?” I scoffed turning away from her. Advancing  towards the rack, I pulled out the towel and started wiping my hair.

“No, I am not actually.” I heard her say, I turn around to gaze at her, placing the towel around my neck. “I was one to call Jamie-” She continued, “- I came here to see you were not here. I went to Jamie to ask if you have gone home but she said, you were still in the pool. Both of us freaked out and then Jamie started calling you and then you know what happened."

I placed my hands over my hip and glanced at her in disbelief. ‘She is either kidding or she is drunk, how the hell can I be down there for so long.’

“Yes, you were.”

“Right!” I mumbled, and turned back towards the rack, grabbing my bag.

"If you don't belief me let's check the camera."
