7|The Face in the dark

Don't sleep, Abrianne. Don't you dare sleep. At least not in this meeting.

I sat among my colleagues trying hard to look at my boss, while he was deciphering something. I didn't have any idea about what he was talking. I just stared at him. I didn't want to look way to interested but I didn't want to look way to unconcerned either.

"So What are your thoughts about my idea?" He said at last resting his eyes on everyone one by one.

I need to have a coffee, right now. I just can't keep up with them. I escaped a glance towards the clock.

"So This it. Thank you for your time."

Finally... I shrugged in relief and rubbed my eyes. All of a sudden I felt a hand over my shoulder. I gasped.

"Hey, Are you okay?"

There stood Aaron Brooke, one of my colleagues.

"Yeah! I am fine. Everything is fine."

Only if it really was.

I said in a low voice and it became awkward when I yawned in front of him. He smiled.

"Didn't have good sleep, I guess."

"Yeah! I think I should get a coffee."

I said and went away.

--

"I don't know what to do in this situation, I can't breathe. I am dying."

I heard someone say. Everything was dark. I couldn't see anything.

All of a sudden a man appeared within the dark. It's face smeared with blood. It's eyes almost coming out with a knife in it's hand.

"Help me Carmen."

It said and started to take it's step forward.

"Go away."

I screamed.

"Just go away from me."

"Abrianne! Abrianne!"

I opened my eyes and removed my head from the desk immediately. Aaron stood there looking terrified.

"You okay?"

Fuck... Fuck... Fuck.. Did I scream?

"What happened?"

"You feel asleep and you were screaming."

I looked around but nobody was present.

"Where are the others? What's the time?"

"They have went home, It's 19:00."

What the... I slept. This is bad. It's fucking bad.

"Hey it's okay. I know you didn't have good sleep, last night. Happens"

He smiled.

"Did I say something?"

I asked trying not to make a eye contact with him.

"You were screaming and shouting 'Go away from me.' I suppose it was a bad dream."

Bad is something that doesn't even begin to describe the half of it. Try using worse.

I started to collect my thing and pack my bag quickly and get the hell out of this office.

"Hey, I can drop you home, if you want."

I heard him say. Well... If he does then I don't have to wait for the cab and that's awesome, my money will be saved, so bingo!

"Sure."
