Melanie heard her name being called.

"Coming." She replied as she walked into the Curtis kitchen.

Sodapop smiled "Sandwich is done."

Melly grinned "Thanks"?

Sodapop sat down "Can I ask you something" ?

Melly nodded "Shoot."

Sodapop went red "Do you still wanna join the Greasers"?

Melanie didn't know what to say. She told Cherry she quit the Socials ,but was she ready to join another gang. What if this gang took advantage of her just like the SOCS. "Um."

Sodapop looked down "So you don't "?

" I do. I really do. " Melanie replied.

Sodapop smiled "Really"?

Melly faked a smile "Yeah." She pretended to be happy on the outside but on the inside she was annoyed . Just because she said 'um'  didn't meant she actually meant no. Now she had to join so Sodapop wouldn't be mad at her. He was going to tell everyone and she was going to be cursed and spit on by SOCS.

Melly was being twirled around by Sodapop and he kept on cheering and laughing. Then out of nowhere, the rest of the gang popped out and yelled "Welcome to the Greasers"!

Melly smiled (fake once again) "Oh my God, this is so sweet. Thank you guys so much"!

Each of the gang members came up and hugged her. Except for Dally. He just patted her shoulder. Melanie awkwardly accepted it. Then Dally muttered in her ear "Now all you have to do is dress up as one of our chicks."

Melly winked at him and replied whispering "I bet you will be waiting."

Dally chuckled "You bet." Then he walked outside to go smoke .

Then Johnny came up and hugged her. That was the most awkward hug Melly had ever had. She felt Johnny trembling the whole time and it was weird. "What is wrong with him"?, She thought.

Then Johnny quietly said "Welcome to our gang. I'm Johnny."

Melly smiled and replied "Thanks, I'm Melly. How old are you"? Melly said trying to keep the conversation going.

Johnny responded "16." Then he walked off.

Melly was stunned. There is no way he is the same age as Sodapop and her. She smiled to herself as she walked over to Sodapop. It was a bit amusing to find out she wasn't the shortest 16 year old Tulsa.

Sodapop held her by the waist "You are one of us now."

Two-Bit brought in beer "A toast for the new broad"!

He handed Melly a can "Here ya go."

Everyone started drinking (except for Melly). They finished and stared at her. Then Two-Bit laughed as he blew smile in her face "You can't join us. Unless you finish the whole beer."

Dally nodded as he patted Two-Bit's shoulder "Drink it."

Melanie gulped and held the beer to her lips. It reminded of her as a kid when she got sick and took medicine. Except then she was allowed to hold her nose while she swallowed the nasty cough syrup. Now Melly couldn't hold her nose.

She was going to have to drink it no matter what. She felt the burning alcohol run down her throat and her eyes began to water. She closed her eyes so no one would see it. The bitter taste filled her mouth and she paused for a breath and continued. She didn't want to see any of the gang members during this torture session. Finally the last drops went down her throat and she slammed the can down on the table.

Everyone cheered for her and Two-Bit out her over his shoulders. He ran her through the whole house until he slammed into the wall. Two-Bit got up and said "More beer"!

Poor Melly had to drink more beer. She drank a total of 5 cans and was drunk. She stumbled down on the couch and held her head. "Why is there two of everyone"? She started laughing hysterically. Two-Bit joined her because he was more drunk than she was. Two-Bit started laughing as he started smoking a new cigarette. "Want some Mel"?

Melanie laughed even harder "Why are you putting a worm in your mouth"?

Two-Bit shrieked as he dropped the out cigarette "I didn't know it was a worm."

Melly patted his shoulder while she pointed to the 'worm', " Oh no it's feisty. The end of it is on fire. Look the carpet"!

The carpet went up in flames and Melly wacked at it with a pillow. Dally brought in the house and sprayed it out. Melly, Two-Bit, and Sodapop were drenched. Melly smiled and she stood up "When did I get in the shower" ?

Darry was mad. Angrier than mad. "Two-Bit Why the hell are you throwing cigarettes on the ground"?!

Two-Bit held his mouth "Darry move" !

Darry crossed his arms "I will not move. This is my house."

Out of nowhere Two-Bit threw up in Darry. "You son of a bitch, just wait till I get my hands on you"!

Melly sat on the front porch wrapped around in a towel over her wet clothes. Sodapop brought her a cup of coffee. Meanwhile, Melly held her head "My fricking head"!

Sodapop laughed "You are having a hangover, dear."

Melly started drinking the coffee "I am sorry I got drunk."

Sodapop hugged her "It's fine. Guess what. Now you can wear Greaser Broad clothes, since you ruined those clothes."

He gestured towards a girl standing next to Steve . "That's Evie. Just about the number one broad for the Greasers girl style. She can be a brat sometimes but she cares about Steve. The gang let's her in." he shoved her towards Evie . "Evie we have your next victim."

Evie inspected Melly "That has SOC written all over it. Come here."

Melly was forced into a tight red crop top with a black leather mini skirt. She had red lipstick on and mascara with eyeliner. Mellys hair was fluffed up.

Evie smiled as she smiled a cigarette "You look like a down to earth Greaser Goddess."

Melly looked at her reflection "I don't look like me at all."
