Unfrozen Love

~* Prologue *~

"This feels nice..." Gray said to himself before hiking up the snow mountain. He halted in his steps before taking the request out, reading it over once more. "It says to travel here... But there's nothing but snow all over there place." Gray looked around harder, but didn't even see anything special.

"Why the hell did I even pick this request..." Gray clicked his tongue in annoyance before turning his heel, walking back to trail he used to travel in that destination. However, he halted once more as he listened to the whistle of the wind, which somehow caught his attention.

"Bells...?" He questioned before turning around again, trying to get a better hearing of the tinkling of bells. Cling, Cling. It's soft, but hear-able to human ears. His eyes furrowed before taking another glance of the paper.

"What the...?" He stared at the words as they started to move around the paper. As it halted, it created a picture, a map. A large X was marked on the mountain right next the to the one he was on.

Gray grinned before looking up, staring at the mountain next to the one he was on. "Man, this is going to take a while..." He started to make yet another trip using the map as his guide.

He climb countless hills, and walked over countless life-threatening bridges, which was barely even 20 cm thick. As he got to the destination that marked the X, he looked around, but just manage to let out a groan of annoyance.

"I've should of known." Gray let out a huff before staring at the paper once more, which seems to change around again and again. Then, as he pulled the paper away from his face, he saw an image, and image of an arrow pointing towards the snow wall on his right.

As he took a glance at the wall beside him, he stuffed the sheet of paper into his pocket, placing his ear right along the freezing wall. But just as his hands touched the rough wall of the mountain, the ground underneath him rumbled violently.

"Avalanche?!" Gray yelled, shooting his head upwards to see large amounts of snow running down. "Crap!" He quickly made a fist and slammed it on his open hand, yelling, "Ice Make : Shield!"

A large circular circle surrounds him, and the shield shook as the impact with the snow slammed on top of it. Gray was panting slightly as he let out a sigh of relief, turning his head back to the wall beside him.

As he removed his hands apart from each other, he placed his ear against the wall, closing his eyes as he listened to any sign of sound. B-dum. A sound of a heartbeat sounded.

Gray's eyes widened slightly as he removed his ear, placing both hands on the wall. He knocked the wall with his knuckle lightly, saying, "Anybody there?" No answer. The shield above him was still there, but was covered with snow, which made the area around him dark and cold.

"Hey, anybody there!" He yelled, louder this time. Then, the ground rumbled again, and another avalanche was created. "Damn it." He cursed as he took a step back, forming a fist again.

"Ice Make: Bazooka!" A weapon was equipped, which was all made out of ice. He pulled the trigger as it fired a shot at the wall, crashing the wall open, revealing a dimly lit cave room with lacrimas lighting.

His mouth was agape by the sight, but what caught his eye was a female, who laid on the bedrock in front of him. The stranger, however, was covered in chunks of ice, but he can still sense some life in her.

"Hey." He said, tapping the ice, "Hey! Are you okay?!" He yelled and started banging his fist at the ice. Then, words started to carve onto the ice.

'If you wish to unfreeze the soul of this girl,' it read, 'You have to find her soul mate within a year, or she'll freeze up again for another guardian.'

"Wait, I'm her guardian now?" Gray asked, but mentally slapped himself from talking to the chunk of ice in front of him. But, for his amusement, another carving appeared, 'Yes' it said, 'And you shall bring her love and happiness for the year, if you succeed.'

The ice shattered like a million glass shards, and he can hear the light snores coming out of the black haired female. His breath was caught on his throat, but he softly picked up the female, carefully not to wake her up.

His heart beats against his chest, and he was afraid if the girl will hear it or not.

'This is going to be a long year...' He thought to himself as he walked out of the cave room, heading back to the Fairy Tail which he calls home.
