Unfrozen Love

~* Chapter 8 *~

Yuki and Gray entered the guild, then they were all surrounded by their guild members. Gray tried defending Yuki, but failed miserably and ended up outside of the group of people.

"Where were you, Yuki! We were so worried!" Lucy said, feeling relieved that she saw the childish female again.

"What did you do to your hair?!" Natsu yelled, taking a small amount of her hair and examined it with pure interest.

Yuki giggled, softly grabbing his hair, "What did you do to your hair!" She mocked, and the whole guild laughed, while Natsu pouted.

"That's not funny!" He yelled, feeling his face flush.

Gray somehow made it through the crowd, and stood behind Yuki while wrapping his arm around her body protectively. "G-gray!" She yelped, feeling his heat entering through her clothes.

"Don't you dare hurt Yuki, fire breath." Gray said, his eyes narrowed at the Fire Dragon Slayer.

"Oi!" Natsu yelled, "Why are you being all protective over Yuki! It's not like she's yours or something-"

He stop mid-sentence, then looked up at the ceiling with a thinking face, "What did I just say...?" He questioned.

Lucy face palm before slapping Natsu's face, saying, "Don't talk when you don't even know what you are saying!"

"I can't help it!" He yelled, rubbing his hand mark now planted on his cheek, "Man, you slap like a man!" He yelled, but quickly ran as Lucy ran after him.

Yuki giggled before patting Gray's hand, telling him to release her. Gray, however, ignored her request and stuffed his face on the crook of her neck, inhaling and exhaling.

"Oooh~ Gray, I never knew you have those skills!" Cana yelled as she drunk beer out of the barrel, grinning widely. In the background, Natsu laughed at Lucy's angry face, and Happy yelling "Aye!" right above them.

"Shut up..." He said, slowly removing his arm around Yuki's waist, walking towards the bar.

"G-gray!" Yuki yelped before running after him, sitting across from him on the table (after he had ordered something to eat).

As Gray sat down, he stared forward at Yuki, watching her sit down across from her. "Yuki..." He said, resting his cheek on his palm, while his elbow rested on the wood tabletop.

Yuki blinked, but smiled as she politely ask, "Yes?"

Gray smiled softly, before saying, "Wanna go out and have fun later? There's going to be a festival nearby."

Yuki's eyes glimmered with happiness, she stood up from her seat and grabbed Gray's hand, "Thank you, Gray!" She yelled, grinning with happiness.

"OI!!!!!" Natsu yelled, running towards them, "Wanna go to the festival today?" Gray mentally face palm. 'So much for spending time alone....' Yuki smiled, but kindly shook her head.

"I wanna spend time with Gray!" She beamed a smile before patting Gray's head, who closed one eye at the sudden impact.

Natsu pouted, but grinned as he said, "Okay, LUCY!!!" He yelled, running after Lucy this time.

Gray smirked, "You sure you want to spend time with me?"

Yuki pouted, and sat back on her chair as she said, "You were the one who wanted to be alone with me in the first place.."

"Smart..." Gray chuckled before giving her a small wink, hearing the two plates clanking against the table. "You better eat up." Gray said, picking up the spoon before pointing it towards her, "Or you won't have much energy to play in the festival."

Yuki nodded before picking up her spoon, and started wolfing down the food in front of her. "By the way..." Gray said after taking a few bites out of his mash potatoes, "What did you eat for the last few months?"

Yuki paused from her eating, but slowly swallowed as she said, "Ice."

Gray choked on his food, "Ice?!" Yuki nodded before using the fork to pick up the mash potato in front of her.

"Even though I can eat ice, doesn't mean I am a dragon slayer." She made it clear for him.

Gray nodded, Yuki said, "I've been eating ice for a long time, and it somehow boosted up my energy, since ice was the only thing I can eat in the small, gloomy cave..."

The once cheery face on her face slowly descended, and was now replaced with a face full of sadness, but also filled with relief. "Thank you for being my soul mate, Gray~" She sing sanged his name and giggled, watching his face flush.

"D-don't sing my name like that..." Gray adverted his eyes, crossing his arms with a blush on his cheeks. Yuki giggled once more, finishing the rest of her supper within a few minutes.

"Hah~ It's been a while since I've eaten good food..." She commented, stretching her arms upwards. Gray too finished his supper, and stood up from his chair.

"Well," Gray said, standing beside the sitting Yuki. He lent his hand out with a smirk, saying, "shall we go out on a date? My ice princess."
