LONELY- 5

Shadow hadn't realized that It was getting so late, he was now at a beach, siting in the sand, and watching the water flow. Shadow wonder what would happen if he swim to the bottom and drowned. Would he be saved? Would someone find him? How would someone find him?

Shadow played with the sand a little, feeling a breeze run through the beach. He sighed, and looked up at the sky, and realized it was getting darker.

"I should get back." Shadow spoke to himself as he sat up from the sand, wiping off any sand that got on his legs.

Sonic continued looking for Shadow, he finally decided to look for him at the beach. When he got there he seen Shadow wiping off the sand off his legs. He looked at Shadow and watched him, he couldn't move, it was as if he was frozen.

Shadow wiped the rest of the sand off his legs, then started walking off, going to the direction of Sonics house. Shadow would have ran, but running on sand isn't that good of a idea, so he walked instead.

Sonic decided to follow Shadow, making sure he went home. Sonic trusted Shadow, but he still worried about him.

Shadow was now near Tails and Sonics house, so Sonic quickly took a short cut to his house, so Shadow wouldn't catch the blue hedgehog following him.

Sonic ran into the house, Tails looked back at him and raised a brow.

"Did you find him?" Tails asked.

"Yes, just pretend like I've been here for the whole time." Sonic spoke, as he sat down on the couch.

"Okay?" Tails replied, looking back down at his book.

A few minutes later Shadow entered the house, Sonic and Tails looked at him as he entered. He looked like he's been running for the past hours.

"Finally back huh?" Sonic spoke, as he looked at the ebony hedgehog.

Shadow rolled his eyes, and sat down on the couch.

Tails decided it would be best to leave the room, not wanting to experience what might happen.

"Where'd you go?" Sonic asked, as he looked at Shadow.

"Places." Shadow replied, not looking back at the blue hedgehog.

"And those places would be?" Sonic asked, as he continued looking at Shadow.

"Just a run, that's all." Shadow replied, now looking over at the blue hedgehog.

"A run? For that long?" Sonic asked, as he crossed his arms.

"Yes, for that long. I don't see why you'd have a problem with that." Shadow huffed, as he looked at Sonic.

"I never said I did, I would just like a little heads up next time, that's all." Sonic said, as he kept his arms crossed.

Shadow rolled his eyes, and looked at the floor, not looking at Sonic anymore. Sonic sighed, and looked at the ground as well.

They stayed like this for a few minutes, until sonic couldn't handle the silence anymore. "Shadow, why do you act like this? Did I do something to you? Why do you hate me?" Sonic asked.

Shadow ears twitched to Sonics voice, he looked up at Sonic, seeing he looked a bit upset.

"I never said I hated you." Shadow replied.

"Then why do you act like this!?" Sonic asked, as he looked into Shadow crimson red eyes.

"Because Sonic, don't you realize? I'm not happy! Okay there, I said it! I'm not happy, and I never will be! You have the perfect life! Okay? So quit trying to make me feel better! It won't work!" Shadow bursted out, he didn't mean to, he just accidentally said it.

Sonic was speechless, not knowing what to say. He stared at Shadow for a few moments. He haven't realized any of this until now. "Shadow, I-"

"No, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lash out at you." Shadow replied, as he looked down.

"There's no reason to be sorry Shadow, I shouldn't have pressured you to tell me, I'm sorry." Sonic spoke.

Shadow sighed, and continued looking down.
