LONELY- 8

Sonic and Rouge made there ways to the forest, keeping a eye out for Shadow. They hoped they weren't to late.

"Should we split up?" Rouge asked as they walked side by side.

Sonic thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Then maybe will find him faster." Sonic replied.

Rouge nodded, then walked a different way then Sonic, seeing as that would be the faster way to find the ebony hedgehog.

Sonic ran around the forest, trying to find Shadow, but he had found nothing so far. The azure hedgehog kept looking though, not easily giving up.

Rouge flew for a little bit, but wasn't able to see much besides trees, so instead she flew back down, and decided to walk around, and try to fine him instead.

Sonic continued to run, having no progress on where the ebony hedgehog was. He groaned in frustration, trying to remember the first place he found the ebony hedgehog in the forest.

Sadly what the two didn't know was that they were already too late, Shadow was long gone, he had lost his life hours ago.

Shadow lifeless body still swung a little, because of the wind. He was pretty deep in the forest, he didn't want someone to see him do this, so he chose a pretty in closed area.

Sonics mind kept racing with thoughts, remember each word of the letter that was wrote to him. He couldn't get it out of his mind. With each step he took, one sentence came to mind.

One step
thank you for helping me, giving me a home, showing that you'd care.
Two step
I'm sorry I didn't return your kindness, your compassion, the way you cared.
Three step
The truth is, I was scared. I was scared to express feelings for you because... well because I liked you, a lot... like isn't even the right word, I loved you, I still do.

Sonic snapped out of his thoughts, hearing a scream from close by, his ears twitched at the scream, recognizing it, It was the white bat, Rouge.

Tears formed in Rouges eyes, as he backed away a step, looking up at the one alive body, hanging. Tears began to roll down her cheeks, as she realized that was her best friend. Her best friend... Shadow.

"Shadow!" Rouge screamed, as she fell down to his knees, tears forming in her eyes, seeing shadows lifeless body.

Rouge started to remember what her letter had said, as he sobbed on her knees, remembering each word Shadow had wrote.

just remember from how stubborn and stupid I was, I still cared dearly for you, and that's goes along for everyone I've known.

I love you Rouge, not just as friend, but as family.

I'm sorry.

Rouge continued to sob, thinking about the note her best friend had written for her, she cried, tears ruining her makeup she worked on for hours this morning.

Sonic finally arrived at the scene, and seen Rouge crying her heart out, on her knees, he then looked up, and seen the ebony hedgehog, hanging there lifelessly.

"No..." Sonic spoke, as his eyes widened in disbelief.
